Anquan Boldin the next Moss (1 Viewer)

I loved it when I drafted this guy in the 18th round (partial thanks to FBG, mostly my astute drafting acumen ;) ) and everyone was like.....Who?Been a starter for me since week 2..... :wall: ;)

Although Anquan put up great Rookie numbers, I really think the closer comparisoin in size, explosiveness and speed to Randy Moss would be this years R.O.Y. Roy WIlliams. Anquan will be an excellent receiver but I am not sure he can put up the Touchdown numbers the way to Randy Moss does, in part because when the Vikings get inside the 10, they will run at least one isolation play for Moss to battle it out with (an almost always smaller) CB. His dominance in a one-on-one situation is something that Anquan doesn't have. But don't see this as as knock to Anquan, who should be a top notch receiver for quite some time, though it worries me a little bit that his playing style is closer to Fitzgeralds, neither is a real "burner" though both have great hands

old thread....nice find.

Props to Switz for having the sack to go out on a limb with this thread. Boldin may not have another 100+ yard game all year but he flashed big time ability in week one. He may be the next Randy Moss or the next Sylvester Morris but he certainly has long term potential.
Switz belongs in the FBG HOF with this thread. Never seen a better prediction on these boards.

WOW......very interesting, i wish someone would call out this years 06 top rookie like this.........

WOW!!!!!!!!!
Switz did a good job here, excellent. Prob with your statement is they'll be about 50 threads on 50 different rookies so you will get what you're asking for but how will you know?

That's the trick IMO. It's a skill to pick which threads are legit, and which aren't (or maybe it's just blind luck!). The funny thing is that the initial proposition of this thread was and still is wrong. But Boldin still became a star nonetheless.

It's always funny to see people make an ### of themselves post-fact! :bag:

Funny that Boldin wasn't even the first round wide receiver for the cards that year. He certainly has panned out. I grabbed him fairly cheap in my dynasty league last year, I think 5th round. I took Coles in the fourth, had two fifth round picks then took Boldin and Steve Smith in the 5th....
