Antonio Brown v. Pierre Garcon (1 Viewer)

In the dynasty league I am in, I was torn between keeping Antonio Brown or Pierre Garcon. After DeSean Jackson signed with the 'Skins, I have decided to go with Antonio Brown. Am I making the wrong choice?

I have them pretty close togethe as well. I think both had amazing seasons last year that could be tough to duplicate.

Brown might have a slight advantage since there isn't really any other receiving threat in Pittsburgh. Wheaton is unproven and Heath Miller is getting older. But on the flip side, this could mean more teams double Brown and force Ben to look elsewhere.

For Garcon, the addition of DJax could open things up for him since Garcon was really the Skins only consisten WR last year. Jordan Reed had a nice year, but was hurt for the last few weeks and didn't get going right way. Now with DJax, Roberts and a healthy Reed, teams won't be able to focus on Garcon as much. Plus a healthy RG3 should help too. However, Garcon will more than likely lose targets to those 3 and likely won't reach 113 catches again.

Like I said, I have these 2 really close together and I don't think you would've made a wrong choice going with either one. I can see keeping Brown just because there is no one else in Pittsburgh to throw the ball to really.

I'd prefer Brown myself. I do feel like 2013 will be Brown's peak, but I think he'll be a reliable top-15 WR for years to come.

I think D-Jax is a compliment to Garcon, and that Garcon will still be the WR to own in Washington, but unless his TDs spike, its hard to see him improving much from last year either.

Neither of these guys are going to increase their numbers IMO so I'll take the guy who is two years younger.

Eh - I know you can't wait, put Pit may draft a big receiver early if they feel Wheaton is not ready to step in.

The flip side to that is garçon plays with a much younger core at the skill positions and the steelers' defensive aside is aging, including the coach that makes it all run.

Probably can't go wrong either way and it's close but I would say if either player has a realistic chance of actually exceeding last year's performance , it's garçon. With the attention to other players on offense, it's not crazy to think he could lose X amount of catches but more than make up for it in TDs (a couple of big long TDs maybe).

That is the difference for me. It seems like garçon got his despite having nothing to work with and brown, to me anyway, seemed to be worked over by Pitt to get every possible drop from him. That's probably a one-sided viewpoint but I guess that illustrates just how close a decision it is.

Does Garcon's foot worry anyone? I know it is manageable now, but I thought I remembered reading that it was an issue that he'll always have to play through. Even if the change in offense and addition of DJax and Roberts wasn't enough to scare me away, that alone would do it.

I prefer Brown. I like his QB more and he's proven he can be a #1 WR and appears to be more durable. One thing I do like about Garcon this year is that he should see a lot of single coverage with Jackson on the other side.

Garcon's a very good receiver, but his targets should drop this year. Brown's will probably drop as well.

Close call.
