I quit playing on Fanduel because they wanted my ss# before I'd even had a profit last year. Are there any sites that don't request it until you hit the $600 limit for the w9?
I'd be shocked if you find any. The $600 threshold isn't anything particularly special as far as record-keeping, it's just the threshold for mandatory reporting. They're obligated to keep track of everyone's win/loss regardless of totals.
I signed up for Rosters within the last few weeks and I don't remember them asking for a SSN. It's the kind of thing I wouldn't necessarily remember, though.
Even if a site lets you sign up and give them money without providing a SSN, they're not going to give any of that money back to you without one.
