Any Trading Cards guys? (Sports, etc) (2 Viewers)

130point.com is a good site (when it's working lol) where you can search most recent sold listings from eBay. you can do that on eBay itself, but 130 will also show you the accepted Best Offer prices where eBay sold listing filter will not.

Jordan is worth getting graded, if for no other reason than it will be proven authentic. There will still be a market for it in a PSA slab even with a lower grade. You can search what lower grades have fetched and probably look at a few of those listings to determine what grade yours might fetch.
Thanks for that 130point.  very interesting.  I'm seeing some closed auctions for PSA 4 Jordans for $3-4k range.  probably worth getting graded, even if that would run me $300.

I may do the big fish individually and then bulk lots with some tier 2 stars.

Where do you go for estimates these days?  How do you know if it's worth grading a card?  My Jordan is probably my most valuable card, even with the crease.  Is that worth getting graded?
What Nathan said

I would send the Jordan to PSA

They are partially closed right now and only accept express and super express but for this card. I would send it at the express level. Will cost 200 (4-6 week return)......the super express is at 300 (1-2 week) but youre  in no rush.

A PSA 1 sells for about 2k....thats the lowest you get assuming there is no issues with it being trimmed/cut or outright not authentic.

The way things are and cost of grading...there are only a couple cards I would also consider grading from what you mentioned that could bring a big return.  Bird/Montana....if you see any decent flaws though...may not be qorth it. The other guys from the late 80s...unless you cant spot a SINGLE flaw...it may not be worth grading.

Good luck!

Target finally released their long-awaited exclusive Prizm basketball megas this morning. I got 3.  :pickle:  Red card only, which killed the bots and kept the megas in stock for 10-15 minutes—an eternity compared to other releases.

congrats! And I guess I'm going to have to get a Red card. Well played, Target.

  I do appreciate Target's effort to combat bots -- Walmart hasn't done anything and it's virtually impossible to get cards online there. Very excited about these Prizm megas, I'd been getting up early every week just in case those finally dropped lol. Select basketball is also coming soon, and should be fairly attainable now that the high-end products are RedCard exclusive.

6am CST?

Not sure what they are worth, but you may want to find a couple of the 1st toppsnow cards of Otahni.  It is 2017 #OS-80 with a pic of him at the press conference.
Another masterful call here, FW! I looked when you posted that and they were around 18-20$.  I didn't pull the trigger. But after he took the HR lead, I kept an eye on them. I picked up a few last week in the 30-40 range. I think they'll keep going up. Dude is a freak of nature. Thanks again for the recs.

With room to go up more.  I’ll get back in the game more on these when things slow down at work.  Also trying to make time for the National in Chicago next weekend, haven’t missed one there yet.

Yep, they've had a couple drops earlier than that but most start shortly after 6. I usually wake up a bit before 6 and then go back to sleep if nothing has been pre-loaded by 6:15 or so.
Dammit. JUST missed Prizm basketball megas this morning! I had neglected to sign up for the Red Card. Pulled it up just a few minutes ago and they had them in stock. Did the card app (which only took like 2 minutes), and had to refresh the page a couple times before it recognized my Red Card, but then it was sold out. Next time, though!

Ouch! It seems like folks had a lot more technical issues this week. Several people said their RedCard wasn’t accepted and/or the megas page wouldn’t refresh. I was starting to worry because my page was late to refresh, but I was able to sneak in an order anyway. They sold out way faster than last week.

Really looking forward to Select basketball now, should be coming to Target in a week or two!

My Prizm megas from Tuesday arrived today, badly damaged. With how Target ships their cards (no protective material whatsoever) it was only a matter of time until one of my orders got damaged, but to happen to Prizm megas, of all products… :kicksrock:

Damn! :sadbanana: I assume they'll swap those out for you, and maybe you get to keep the damaged ones and can salvage some of it?

Since they're so hard to come by it looks like they aren't doing replacements, just refunds. The customer service rep I talked to said that I could still return them if I open the boxes and find that the cards are damaged, so I'll be ripping them all tonight. Hoping some packs avoided damage. I'm seeing a LOT of people report damaged Prizm megas today, seems like Target really screwed the pooch with this week's shipments.

Opened my 3 boxes tonight, and I’m glad I did. Cards seemed to completely avoid damage, and I got some awesome pulls:

-Jaden McDaniels silver
-Killian Hayes red cracked ice
-Tyrese Haliburton base
-Anthony Edwards base
-LeBron Kobe tribute base
-LaMelo Ball base
-LeBron Kobe tribute red cracked ice

I’d been hunting for a LaMelo prizm card for so long, and that red cracked ice LeBron is going for $180-$200 right now! Centering on that one is awesome too — potential grading candidate.

Damn!!! NICE!! Congrats.

Been working on it a few weeks and I'm now 32 cards away from having a complete, 598 card, 1968 Topps Baseball set.

Anyone have some? :lmao:

Are the missing cards all high number?
So when I moved to Boise eleven years ago, I sold all but like 200 of my cards.  Had 1000's. I kept 22 of my 1968 cards.

I had about 70% of the  1968 high cards from day one when my local Grants Dept store carried that last series.  So dumb to get rid of them now.

Think I'm going to sell my five Mint Griffey #1 cards and build 1969 and 1970 sets.  Love the 70 set.

Wife just bought me 6 packs of Elite FB for my birthday--$125.00 for 30 cards--just insane. The box was $360.00.

Not much to show for that--

Elway throwback card, Etienne (RC) #23/99, Tutu Atwell Turn of the Century Auto #142/199 and a Pitts Rookie Elitist insert.

With the PSA costs and backlog, are there other grading companies that are worth using?  I've also got a Jordan Rookie (guessing a 6-7) and the rest of that Fleer set with a bunch of other rookies, Magic/Bird rookie, Akeem Star rookie, a bunch of autographed cards (that I personally got signed when I was a kid), etc.  I'd like to get at least the most valuable ones graded, but have never gone through the process and just keep hearing about the costs and time it takes with PSA.

If return value is your main concern stick to PSA.

I would send the Jordan now.

That valued card would have to go at the express service anyway. Its $200 at the moment but it would return in abiut 4 weeks.

$309 gets that card back in about 7-12 days.

:hot:  missed the NBA Prizm again this AM on Target, but did get a couple of the Prizm Draft Picks NFL just to open something   there are still some left, as well as some of the cheaper offerings (Contenders, UD Hockey and couple baseball) if anyone is looking

Missed Prizm two weeks in a row now. Last week's restock was a bit late, 10 minutes after I went back to sleep. And this morning I got multiple "high traffic, please try again" errors as I submitted my order. Botters are figuring out how to open multiple RedCard accounts (it's easier than I thought) which is making the top-tier products harder and harder to get. I don't have a great feeling about Select basketball.

Also got my first ever Luka rookie card in the mail yesterday and a corner was damaged during shipping. Got a 50% refund which is nice, but grading is out of the question now. Not a stellar week for me on the card front.

I got to use it once last night (made a search and got a "Try our new price tool!" banner) and my main takeaway was that you need VERY specific search terms in order for it to be helpful. I had just searched "Zion Williamson mosaic rookie" so the price data included sales of raw cards and graded cards, base cards and parallels. Not useful. Tried to make a more specific search and I didn't get the banner that time.

Down to #177 and #533.

Also picked up a complete 1970 set for $1500. Min these are going for in any shape is $2k on EBay. Has had the set in a binder for 50 years.  He thinks it could be worth $4-5k, but he has 500,000 cards to get rid of and doesn't have time to go through it all.

Several Wes Parkers on eBay currently, maybe more than you're wanting to pay for them though. Try adding a few to your watch list. Most sellers will end up offering a discount, at which point (if they enable it) you can haggle a bit. Get in there!

Sweeeet! Now on to the holy grail!   There are a few ungraded of those too. Most in rough shape though. The decent ones probably all sent for grading. Good luck! And post pic of the set when you finish!
Nice!

Someone local is selling a partial set missing a few cards of which Bench is one. They want 2300.

Im tempted. The Ryan looks decent.

Cool.

Nice set!

I have done several Elite Bronco breaks this week. I got my Surtain (RC)s and inserts, but still no Javonte WIlliams, so I am going to have to buy singles for those. There are just a ton of veteran and weird player choices included. I mean an old black and white Frank Gifford card, but it is all rainbow and holographed up. The auto hit in one box was a Ray Guy auto and the flashy insert was a Justin Tucker (PK) low numbered.

Last night Gold Standard came out--running about $500 a box and you get seven cards. I did a two box break and got a Justin Simmons auto that is really sweet. However, there is no way this product is priced right. I have watched multiple breaks and I haven't seen one box justify the price. One of the boxes in the break last night had a Fletcher Cox auto, a Steve Largent patch and some rookie auto I haven't heard of.

Need to start buying singles now.
