Any update on Reggie Bush's status for MNF? (1 Viewer)

I'm just going to give my Saints homer opinion about Reggie Bush. I think unless the Saints really cant get it done with McAllister and PT he may see some carries but likely he will rest another week. He is too important to risk by bringing him back before he is ready and he is not 100%. He was limited in practice as recently as Friday. Could he be active for Monday night? Maybe but even if he is active you risk the chance he gets limited carries. I really dont see him having anywhere near the value he had before the injury. I always bench guys their first game back from injury as a rule unless I really have no other option.

Ugh, what a nightmare rollercoaster. Considering slotting Thomas in over LJ, but given the Monday night uncertainty, I almost feel better about taking LJ's certain carries over Pierre Thomas's uncertain carries but higher upside. How do other people feel about this general strategy -- mitigting risk by playing a sure back, even if it means a lower upside?
If the RB has a decent or good matchup I'd take the points I felt certain I'd get over the points I was hoping to get at this stage of the season. If it was earlier in the year, I'd be more willing to gamble but in Week 12 I think you have to make sure you get points and not take significant risks. I'm not sure if LJ will go off because the Bills are decent against the run but are real vulnerable to the pass right now. So I think this is a game where Thigpen and the passing game does well. But he should be good for 50+ yards and 1-2 receptions at least.
Wise as always, pf -- thanks. It was the way I was leaning, but in situations like this, you always hate to have someone go off on your bench - and PT has that upside if he gets the bulk of the carries.
I agree Thomas is the upside play - especially in a PPR league. But the word I'm hearing is that Bush had a better week of practice this week than last week. That doesn't mean he's going to play but he is getting closer. I'm rolling with Thomas as my RB3 in my PPR league but I don't have Larry Johnson as an alternative. If I did, I'd play it safe and go with LJ even though I don't think this is a week where he goes off. But at least I knew I'd be getting something even if the upside wasn't as great in my opinion.

I agree with this with two cavaets:1. This is a Must Win game for the Saints and that could lead Bush to do everything he can to play. I don't think the Saints can afford to lose this game if they want to get to the playoffs. 2. Even if Bush is limited, in a PPR league he could get 5-6 passes without trying very hard and that's very nice production in that scoring format. I'd be less to gamble on Bush in a standard scoring league. In a PPR league, I'd probably wait until the last possible minute if I had a replacement I felt good about to plug in for him if he didn't play.

That's pretty huge. How reliable is Glazer? This isn't a "Michael Bennett will get the start" kind of call, is it?

Also, it's Sunday -- wouldn't the Saints wait at least until tomorrow to make this call?

Glazer's one of the top beat writers around. Nobody gets them all right but he's very credible. According to the post in the Bush injury thread, Bush did not participate in today's walkthrough and Glazer said after talking to Saints players Bush will not play tomorrow.

:lmao: What's McAllister's role supposed to be tomorrow? Is he a threat to take carries from PT?

There are various threads which hinge on Bush being out or not.My question is why Pierre Thomas got the bulk of the carries last week. Is this foreshadowing for this week or not (given that bush is indeed out)?

This seals it for me, I'm rolling with PT as my 3rd RB (don't like MJD's matchup vs the Vikes so he's riding the pine for me)

agreed. I didn't pay much attention to this as I was out of town last week, but right now, 30 min from line-up submission time, this is pretty crucial. I hate to talk about my team, but right now it PT vs Wes Welker in .5PPR. Right now I am thinking PT w/ majority of carries > Welker.

Thomas looked good in the NFL Network Replay snippets. Showed a lot of speed.

Bumping thread to see if anyone has info about last week's game.

PURE speculation on my part but if Thomas starts my guess is Deuce's role would be to get a handful of carries (5-8) and maybe the goal-line looks. Again, that's just speculation based on the report, what we saw last week and my belief that Thomas is the superior RB.
