My NetZero free 40 hours a week dial up is slow today as well.

In the minutes leading up to the day's first kickoffs, again this week I find the Footballguys.com site (main page, weekly inactives) absolutely crawling. I thought whatever issue was contributing to the poor performance before game time last week was resolved? All other Internet sites, including those fantasy FB related like the "Sunday Fantasy Update" at ESPN, are not exhibiting any slowdown on my machine.

Seriously....one thing that would help is for people to stop using (and/or viewing) avatars. If every member of the forum stopped using an avatar (or at least understood how to properly ADD an avatar so that it isn't 5-10 times larger in file size than it needs to be), you would see probably HUNDREDS of megabytes of bandwidth being saved every day...which would also make a difference on HTTP requests and the performance of the site. If FBGs servers are running slowly, that is at least partially their fault. However, if the users of the boards would do a little bit to help out too, everyone on this site would benefit.
