Anyone have a league they simply can't trade in? (1 Viewer)

I have been struggling to find a quality RB2 all year. Started with Best/Spiller as my options, traded Spiller, and Best just sucks. Just offered Best+Dez Bryant for LeGarrette Blount, and was soundly rejected. But here's the thing. This team's starting WRs are Brandon Marshall (4 straight weeks of WW production) Maclin (good) and Crabtree (decent at best). He also has Turner, Snelling, Donald Brown, Mike Goodson, and Pierre Thomas.

Everyone in this league treats any RB that gets more than 12 carries or 50 yards as more valuable than WR1s. I just offered him a WR that would instantly become his WR1 and a capabale replacement RB and was instantly rejected. What sucks is not having a RB2 is my only weakness on this team, but will likely prevent me from winning the league because of it. Best offers I have gotten are LT for Bryant, and Lynch for Hakeem Nicks.

Anyone else have leagues like this?

seems like a good reason for them not to trade with you... it happens

Few things to consider:Maybe he doesn't want to make your team strongerBest is near worthless at this point He basically wouldn't have any decent RB2 if he traded Blount. He might not fully trust a rookie with Jon Kitna throwing to him even though he has had some production. He might be salivating at the prospect of playing Blount vs. Wash, Det, and Seattle in the playoffs.

Since you obviously think you'd be getting the better end of this deal, is it so hard to believe the other guy might think the same? He does not have the depth at RB to deal Blount, especially not for a guy you yourself say 'sucks."

Maybe, but it just seems like no one values any positions other than RB in this league. Kinda crazy, but I guess there really just aren't many reliable starters at RB in this league.

Dez and Best for Blount?!?!

 Can I get in this league?

Try offering him a moldy grilled cheese with some pocket lint and see if he bites on that.

Javarris James, Keiland Williams, or Michael Bush available?

Well, you were able to trade Spiller in a league you supposedly can't trade in.
It was a long while back and I was offered Witten. Goes to show how overvalued RBs are in this league.I get what you are saying, but this is also a league where we can keep one player drafted after round 6, and Bryant is eligible.I mean, is there anyone out there who considers Blount a more valuable fantasy asset for this year and next than Bryant? I'm trying to give away value and getting rejected. Bryant is a clear-cut stud. Maybe I should offer same for Turner. I offered Steve Johnson for Mike Goodson and expect that to get rejected as well.

I have both in a keep rookie league and I'm going to move Blount (and M. Williams) and keep Dez. Dez next year will be like Nicks this year..

I'm in a dynasty league where trades are rare - I've completed maybe 3 or 4 in the five years I've been involved. I've offered many more, and I try to be fair in my offers, but they nealry always get rejected out of hand - no counteroffers, no comments, nothing. Maybe it has something to do with getting too attached to players on your team and overvaluing them as a result.

Every league is different. I am in two leagues, bith 12 team and only one bench spot difference. In one league, we had three trades all year. I pulled off the biggest sending R. Moss and Jacobs for Roddy White. While I obviously got the better of the deal, no one said a word. Point being, we are all so freakin' competitive, we cringe at the thought of making another team better...even if it means sacrificing our own. On the flipside, in the other league, we had 39 trades this year. We are also competitive, but we have about 3-4 guys in it who are addicted to trading...it is all they want to do. One guy traded himself into contention, another traded himself into last place...but they just don't care...we will have another 40 trades in 2011, and those two will be in on most of them.

I am fine with trading, but put a lot of time into my research before the draft and usually just need to tweak. In this league, I have done two blockbuster trades (S-Jax for ADP which I handedly won and ADP and a swap in picks for MJD this year, which I am getting smoked on). I always do 1-2 trades a year in all my leagues, but they are usually small one (also did slaton for Mcgahee in week 2 as we both owned the starter) to improve my team slightly.

Reality is, NO ONE wants to lose a trade and we all tend to stomach the Cotchery for Lee evans-type deal better when we come out on the losing end.

Dez and Best for Blount?!?! :lmao: Can I get in this league?Try offering him a moldy grilled cheese with some pocket lint and see if he bites on that.
Yeah, because a WW FA RB is worth far much more than a 1st round WR who has been tearing it up. This is the kind of crap I am talking about.Just offered Nicks for Moreno and expect that to be rejected.Well got a trade done but involved giving up Vick as my keeper. Got to keep all my receivers though.
