Anyone with knowledge of Camp Phoenix in the Middle East? (1 Viewer)

My son is headed there via convoy and I'm worried about their safety to and from as well as while there.

Any of you have intel you can share? Just a worried dad.

Middle East? I found one in Afghanistan--where is the convoy traveling from? No info from here to help but prayers and best wishes...

Camp Phoenix is in downtown Kabul near the airport. It's one of the relatively safer areas in Afghanistan. I was stationed across town near the Embassy a couple years ago. If he's convoying from outside Kabul that could be hairy. When we had to go anywhere outside the city, even Bagram which is only about 25 miles away, we'd take a helicopter or small plane. But then we were civilians; I don't know if the policy was different for military.
