Wild real $$ bidding war in our league for Cadillac Williams. Am I missing something?

I know SJax is always an injury risk, but is there any hint that this could be more than a couple of weeks type injury?

I've been following it and I've heard nothing to indicate that it is a significant injury.

It's concerning that he was ruled out so early in the week, but other than that I haven't seen anything to suggest he'll be out any longer than that.

I guess SJAX isn't used to running that far? It's a shame. The burst he had on that play was exciting. It's been a few years since he's looked that fresh. His owners missed out on a promising day. :kicksrock:

Moves like this are always great to see. I put in defensive bids for Cadillac in leagues where I would be thrilled to have him, and would be dropping another backup in the process, but fully expect to be outbid by a sizable margin in each league. If that happens, and it plays out the way we think, some owner is going to spend huge money for a one or two week player, and a guy -- frankly -- that probably isn't much more than a flex anyway.

found this tweet from Bloom that was promising

@SigmundBloomSigmund Bloomgood sign RT @espn_nfceast Rams' Steven Jackson appears to be angrily pleading with coaches to put him back in. To no avail so far.

I haven't owned Steven Jackson before this year, but isn't this typically his M.O.? Gets banged up, questionable all week, then ends up playing and producing on gameday? I'm not too worried, but I did have to burn a #2 waiver on Caddy just in case

Not that it necessarily means anything, but he's been extremely quiet on Twitter. That somewhat concerns me since he tends to post quite a bit. Could be nothing, but I'd be happier if he was interacting with fans as usual and being generally positive.

Not sure what exactly this means (if anything) but here is the latest post from his Twitter:

It means he thinks Urlacher will play this week.

Didn't a quad injury keep SJax out about 4 weeks a few years ago?
Yes, and its the same leg.MBIII also had the quad injury last year and that guy wasn't right all year. The rush for Caddy may be over reaction..but it may also be the buy of the year.

Yea, that guy who has missed one start in the last two seasons is always injured.

Welcome to running backs in the NFL.

Rotoworld is reporting that S-Jax said that there is an outside chance he will play Monday.

Personally, I would rather that he sit out and be DEFINITELY ready to play Week 3. Get him back to 100% and go from there. But good to hear that it seems to be heading in the right direction.

SJ says he might play. Spags says he trusts SJ and will let him decide for himself if he can go
Source or link please?
Steven Jackson (quad) refuses to rule himself out for Monday night's game against the Giants.Jackson has yet to practice this week, but he insists the quadriceps is improving. Coach Steve Spagnuolu seems open-minded, stating that S-Jax will be evaluated closer to Monday's game day. We'd be awfully skeptical of most backs playing through this injury, but Jackson has proven to be a warrior who will suit up if at all possible. S-Jax admits he only has an "outside chance" of playing, so check back Friday for an update on his status.Source: stlouisrams.com Sep 15 - 5:36 PM

No offense but dont all NFL players do this to appear tough and then say something to the effect that it was the coaches decision? I mean he isnt going to come out and say "man I am hurt bad, I hope the other team doesnt hit my thigh because I am in some serious pain"There is some serious mileage on Sjax with some hard hits on him. I think any injury no matter how small would be cause for concern. I say this as an unbiased observer who owns nobody in this.

I decided to buy low on him. It's a risk considering it's the same injury that bothered him so much a couple years back. But I'm gambling on the idea of a healthy mid till late season. Only time till tell.

Following up on the ongoing story. ... According to CBSSports.com, running back Steven Jackson (quad) and receiver Danny Amendola (elbow) did not practice Thursday. Their absences come as no real surprise.

Jackson (quad) has not been ruled out for Monday’s game, but there is a peace of mind for both Jackson and head coach Steve Spagnuolo knowing that the Rams have a capable backup in Cadillac Williams.

“That definitely eases the decision,” Jackson said, “but as a competitor, I still want to go.”

Asked about the health of his quad after Thursday's session was over, Jackson said: “Not 100 percent, but it’s getting better daily. I’m continuing to work with the training staff to speed up the recovery and get back on the field. ... We’re definitely shooting to have an outside chance to go on Monday. ..."

No chance he plays Monday, imo but should be ready to go next week...and then we can all hold our collective breaths during every carry again.
