*** APEX LEGENDS *** - ̿ ̿ ̿̿’̿’\̵͇̿̿\=(•̪●)=/̵͇̿̿/’̿̿ ̿ ̿ ̿ (3 Viewers)

I may be on tonight if you need another. Currently taking a break from work and getting a few games in. Switched back to Lifeline and going much better.

I’m EastCoastBias08 on Xbox.

It's a video of an Octane getting down but still being able to shoot. Stays on knees crawling around and gets the last kill.
I know I am old and paranoid, but I do wonder how much of this is going on.  We seem to run across at least one WTF? moment a night.

I would guess that it's more prevalent on the PC, but I have linked that article talking about how many 100s of thousands of accounts have been banned for cheating.  I think it costs $ to buy these bots too.

Seems really weird to pay money to cheat at a game that is free.  Not like you are going to crush pros and win tourneys if you cant win without cheating either.

watching some pros and noticed when theyre fighting they rarely jump, just side to side strafe. i definitely jump way too much. i remember jumping during fights being a major flaw back when i was playing quake 2. easy to know where youre going to land

That's what I've seen too.  More very fast side to side movement.  I assume this lets you keep your sight on a level plane (ie keeps your sight at shoulder level).  Jumping will make you have readjust your aim a lot.

I know 100% i need to work on getting my aim up even more.  Been better the last couple weeks as i TRY to me more mindful where my sights are pointing as I go into buildings or know a fight is coming, but looking at the death recaps, it's constantly me getting 4-5 shots off for 15-20 damage, but getting killed in 2 shots because they are landing 50-70 each.

This + trying to heal constantly and quicker (which is why I was starting to try Lifeline more) are what I have been trying to focus on the last couple weeks.  Need more head shots though - I know the tips say to aim at the shoulders, but I have know idea where I actually am aiming unless I start recording myself.

I only jump to turn quickly (ie when someone is shooting at me and I don't know where they are coming from), if I'm coming around a corner into a fight, or if I'm running away.   In head to head fights all I do is strafe.  I agree the costs to aim outweighs the dodge benefits.   I do need to learn to slide and shoot more/better - definitely seems to be the move that separates the good players from the rest imo.  It will take quite a bit of practice to master tho.

I assume paired with the strafing is getting out of the habit of aiming down sight too.  :bag:
Yes.  Also, if you don't already do it, you should be continuously getting off ADS as soon as your target is moving faster than your ADS can track, and then snapping back on when your rotation catches up.   This action is natural in longer distance fights, but its crucial in very close quarter fights as well.

I think I have my regular movement and ads the same.  :oldunsure:

If played correctly, we should've had 4 wins last night. I blew at least one of them in the swamps. Trying to remember the other 2nd

You guys are Rocking now that you got rid of that dead weight (me)!
Lol. You're the best team leader by far. We were just playing against mostly terrible teams. Should've had 4 wins last night.

You're improving, no doubt.  The main thing is avoiding taking a lot of damage quickly or getting downed. If you're not in the middle of a fight and lose half of your shields at the very beginning, dart out of sight quickly and heal up. Maybe try sticking with Wraith some to be able to bounce in and out quicker.

Lifeline is quick too, I started trying her b/c she heals quicker and in theory i could drop the bot and charge while fighting.

Dunno, mostly it feels like i either get downed fast, or if I do try to dart somewhere to heal I get stalked down.  For sure need to practice not being a good target though.

You just blew my mind.
