Are you a Costco member? What do you buy for your household? (1 Viewer)

Is it worthy? Better than the same thing from Safeway? As good as Whole Foods?
I've never had it anywhere's else, but just eyeballing the one that's sold at the local acme, the costco one looks far bigger.     Its damn tasty, but the other's may be as well.  It seems they take a loss on it and they're resisted pressure to increase the price for at least a few years so it sounds like a very good value.

I'll have to give it a try soon. Nothing better than shredded rotisserie chicken on fresh salad greens. Might have to blend with kale. *NOM*

i heard the same legend about maintaining the $5 price for their rotisserie chicken.   they sell bottled water from the vending machine at the food court for $.25.   Crazy.
I've noticed Costco has kept their rotisserie chickens at 3 pounds while the ones at my local grocery stores have gotten smaller, more expensive, or both.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit.   That's how costco rolls.   Greatest store eva.
I've noticed how little turnover and how much internal promotion happens at my local store.  I recognize most of the cashiers, seen people who started out running boxes a few years back who are supervisors now.  They must treat their employees well.

Very well.  I sold a home to a checker/asst mgr last yr.  $22/hr and after 5 years, she got two $5k bonuses also.

that 2% travel reward is pretty good. I assume their pricing is comparable to most travel sites. Ill be planning a Disney trip in a year so ill be checking what they have to offer

I usually stop by Costco sunday mornings for gas 7am (no lines) and to shop Mondays after work 2:30pm (no lines)

This month they are having a sale on the oikos greek yogurt, so ill be stocking up on that. Probably pick up those pork medallions I always stop to look at ive heard good reviews

I'm sure we talked about this before but I don't do the executive because I shop at Costco maybe twice a year but have their credit card

I was in last week and they said our account showed that we would benefit from the executive membership.  Offered the remainder of the year (4-5 months) for $20 and said if we don't get $20 back they'll make up the difference.

I thought I heard that they'll do that with the full-year exec membership too - if your rebate is less than the extra $60, they give you the difference. Is that correct?

Finally getting the tires. Buy 4 Michelin save $100 but with all the installation fees still paying 750 total. Doesn't seem like the deal I was hoping for. Oh well. I still need them.

It's not the cheapest deal, but it is the cheapest you'll pay for Michelins (which are well reviewed tires), especially considering the free rotations.

Need to buy a couple new tv's in the next few months.  Could buy now if the deal is right.  I'd be willing to wait until black friday time if deals are better then as well.  Let me know what you all think on the following tv's that went on sale today.

65" Samsung $999

https://www.costco.com/Samsung-65"-Class-(64.5"-Diag.)-4K-Ultra-HD-LED-LCD-TV.product.100316230.html

50"Samsung $599

https://www.costco.com/Samsung-50"-Class-(49.5"-Diag.)-4K-Ultra-HD-LED-LCD-TV.product.100350293.html

These sizes are perfect for what I'm looking for.  Thanks.

Looks like the 49'' curved is only 549.  I have been similarly considering a new TV lightly.  I think the Samsungs have been in this general price range for a bit.

@Bruce Dickinson

Just a heads up that the Kingsford Competition 2 packs are going on sale again starting Thursday. $5 off.
I wonder if all stores carry the same items, or if they stock based on regional prefernces.  Stopped in Costco this evening looking for the the Kingsford 2 packs and could not find it  They do have Traeger pellets tho....  In fact, I do not recall ever seeing charcoal @ Costco (FYI -Sam's Club has 2 packs of Kingsford Original for $14.99).

Kind of like my local store has the take and bake pizza but Capella's does not because they did not sell.

Anyone else run across these types of discrepancies?

There are three of them within ten miles of my home each has different stuff. They all have the basics. But I rotate around to get everything.

I didn't need it, but yesterday mine had big (55 qt) bags of potting soil for $4 each.  The people in front of me at the checkout had 2 carts full of them.

For those that have rented a car through Costco, I am assuming they are playing the part of a third party like Expedia or Priceline, is that correct? If so, little chance for an upgrade once you arrive at the rental agency?

I rent several times a year and over half the time they offer me an upgrade below the published price online so I typically rent the cheapest vehicle and roll the dice for an upgrade offer.

It was horrible.  I was renting internationally and the numbers are just for Enterprise and one other company.  Enterprise is total crap.  Absolutely useless.
