Ashley Madison hacked - Start hiding everything (2 Viewers)

Score another one for old fashioned analog adultery.

I'm not sure I get the point of the site. If one is down for the strange, it's easy enough to find without leaving a trail. Or so I've been told.

Ashley Madison was planning an IPO... Doesn't look like that's going to happen. There's no way the company can survive this. How long before bankruptcy?

Is this going to be the first large business destroyed by hacktivists? Ashley Madison will be discussed in business schools for decades.

How many real women/girls are out there whose name happens to be "Ashely Madison"? They'll be going by there middle name from now on.

Not everyone is a dreamy 6'3" humanitarian with Texas charm, GB.

187,000 clients in the Houston market. Most of those in the suburbs. I wonder how many of my friends are hiding #### right about now?
Per Wiki Houston has a population of 2.2 M (~75% adult) - we are really supposed to believe that somewhere around 10% of the adult population is signed up? Not sure I buy that.
Houston MSA is >5 Million. Wiki is crap, don't believe everything you read on the internet, son.

I haven't seen a non-basketball thread with this many capella posts since like 2008.
11 posts is a lot?

I think the aspect of being that curious about people getting their rocks off and wanting to water cooler it or whatever at work is pretty ####ty. I also think the "everybody on that site is a cheater" angle is especially dumb, but whatever.

I never paid to use or met anybody off that site if that's what you're bothering to imply.
I know at least two people that got accounts to see if their spouse was a member and were subsequently deleted (neither are still married). Another who has an account as a private investigator.

I may have signed up for this, Im single though. I also never paid the hefty fee they wanted to actually talk to people.

Well, this guy is giving out names of people from Kentucky on the list, one by one:

https://twitter.com/kentuckyamleak

I have to believe there will be a searchable address data base fairly soon.
Twitter suspended the account...
How is this not free speech?
because twitter is a private company and not the government?
Yeah, I get that - sorry bad choice of words to use. Just saying that this guy wasn't making stuff up. He's simply relaying information that's already out there.

Twitter, according to their own page, suspends accounts for "common reasons" like Spam, account security (account has been hacked), or abusive tweets or behavior (sending threats, or impersonating others). This guy isn't doing any of that if I'm understanding what he did correctly.

I underestimated the amount of mfers moving down here every year. MSA is almost 6.5 Million. http://recenter.tamu.edu/data/pop/popm/cbsa26420.asp

Wait, what was he posting? I didn't click the link, but I was under the impression he was posting the "names of people from Kentucky on the list" as per the post above. If it were more than that, well yeah turn him off, but if it's just names I don't see anything there that violated the twitter rules. No different really than saying that Duggar kid's name is on there.

Maybe some big wig at Twitter is on the list :)

Seriously, how much if a rookie are you to not only use your real name, but also your main email?

Question: would it be ethical to jump on as many unclaimed email addresses for famous people as you can find (yeah, ricksantorum@gmail.com is probably gone, but rick.santorum? rick_santorum?) and sign up for a bunch of embarrassing sites in anticipation of the next big hack?

Follow-up question: I may have already done this.

It was a bit more slanderous than that, but this is also stolen information that Twitter probably doesn't want being shared through their medium.

You still need to argue after this? What are you 5 or something?

Grow up and make your own twitter and then you can decide the rules, until then get over yourself...

http://www.rawstory.com/2015/08/josh-duggar-admits-to-porn-addiction-and-being-unfaithful-to-wife-i-have-been-the-biggest-hypocrite-ever/

I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife.

I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and most of all Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him.

I brought hurt and a reproach to my family, close friends and the fans of our show with my actions that happened when I was 14-15 years old, and now I have re-broken their trust.

The last few years, while publicly stating I was fighting against immorality in our country, I was hiding my own personal failings.

As I am learning the hard way, we have the freedom to choose to our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences. I deeply regret all hurt I have caused so many by being such a bad example.

I humbly ask for your forgiveness. Please pray for my precious wife Anna and our family during this time.

Josh Duggar

That seems more plausible - 10% seemed really high to me.

Well if you don't know how the hell are we supposed to? And sentences that are a question end with a question mark, dummy. ;)

Lots of college faculty used their school email addresses. (Liberty and Oral Roberts seem pretty high up there.)
The methodology, is, of course, fraught with peril. First, the majority of academic email addresses belong not to faculty, but to students
its weird to write that, but still attempt some sort of conclusion.
He looked at a sample of specific email addresses and the huge majority of the sample were from faculty, not students or non-faculty staff.

The whole exercise is pointless because the site didn't even validate emails.

local site released all of the names of those who live in virginia

found a few people down the street & some co-workers

Yeah, only the amateurs will be exposed in this leak. Anyone with half a brain who uses AM is using a burner email, prepaid visa, fake name/phone/address. Anyone with a full brain is not on the site. Apparently 90-95% of the accounts are male, and a good chunk of the female accounts are fake accounts to keep the men around and paying. It wouldn't surprise me if 99% of the accounts created on there never resulted in a meetup, much less cheating. This whole thing is an example of how ####ed up our society is today. The people paying money to try and find someone to cheat with and the people trying to expose their neighbors and colleagues are both despicable scum.

ricksantorum@gmail.com will go to the same email box as rick.santorum@gmail.com as will r.i.c.k.s.a.n.t.o.r.u.m@gmail.com

So my wife's boss was on the list. And he is does a lot of family law. Their new slogan is, "Not only do I practice family law, but I'm also a client."

Although if these sites aren't even going to verify the address, I guess I can just use their real ones. Welcome to Grindr, tedcruz@senate.gov.
