My league has small rosters and my bench is loaded. This is way earlier than its ever happened to me before. I don't have any uber studs though.

There's always a couple borderline playoff teams that are being carried by one or two players and not much else.

So when do you start consolidating your good players and start going after the elite?

At this point i'd start targeting the elite who are under-performing this year: Ray Rice, Randy Moss, Michael Turner, Fitz, etc. You should pay less

If your league has small rosters then you stand a much better chance at recovering from an injury to one of your starters. I'd upgrade the starters and refill the bench with lottery tickets. When a starter goes down one of the lottery tickets usually pays off.

Solid advice, one of the things I was worrying about by not trading was missing out on ww pickups, I usually hit on one every year. Right now I would have to drop Tampa Mike if I wanted anyone.By the looks of this poll I will be sending out lots of offers, Thanks guys.

I am always in "looking to improve" mode. If that means that I have to give away 2, 3 or even 4 players to get that one I want, I will do it. I'll give away future draft picks to get that player. There is never a time when I don't think about improving my team.

The side that gets the best player wins almost every trade!
 Ha, this has been my motto forever.Count me in with the "early and often" camp.I'm ALWAYS calculating 2 for 1 deals in my favor.Whenever I can significantly improve my starting lineup it's worth the slight hit to my depth.Like others in this thread, I don't think I've ever been on the "2" end of a 2 for 1.

Offering 3 (2 for 1) deals now...(SEE Sig for current roster)

Portis & Garcon for Big Ben

Portis & Garcon for VJax

Portis & Garcon for Santonio Holmes

Strategy here is to roll the dice with Potential Stud WR & pick up Orton off waivers or

Big Ben & pick up Demaryius Thomas of waivers

I always review the rosters in my large redraft league and send out multiple offers on draft night. There are always a few teams that come out of the draft with glaring weaknesses. This year I made my first trade - a 3 for 2 deal - during the week before opening day.

Just traded 4 for 1.

Gave Eli, Tampa Mike, Driver and JETS

for

ANDRE JOHNSON!!!

Woo hoo! Now it's time to hit the wire for three new lottery tix. In my experience multiple for one always seem to work out best for the team getting the one.
