Auction Budget/Strategy article coming? (1 Viewer)

For some reason, I haven't been able to change the auction values on the DD to my liking. I don't want my QBs/TE valued so high, and I want to increase the value on my WR/RB. This seemed like a simple change, but somehow it always keeps their values too high. What I'd like to do is put in all the values manually so I know everything is correct.Any ideas??
BumpI left a message for Bruce in the Apps Forum, but no reply. Anyone have any tips
What exactly are you trying to accomplish here? Are you saying that the DD is giving you prices that you believe are out of whack for your league's spending habits? That's the case in some regards with my league, but I merely use that to try to find the areas to avoid/target to maximize value (based on league history). If DD is pushing QBs and TEs higher than you prefer, that tells me that maybe your scoring system values them more than you think. If your league doesn't spend as much on them, you should be able to get good value there.Or is it something else?

Don't worry about it. This thread was buried and I thought it was put to rest. I received my answers from Bruce Henderson. I am going to manually enter MY OWN "values" in the third column of notes/comments. Thanks for your input.

Hi guys,

I've been in a 12 team auction league for 9 years and I love it. Hell, I fly from SC to Chicago to get to the draft! Anyway, I had a strategy question as well. Don't mean to hijack the thread or bring in a little Asst. Coach Forum into this, but my question is somewhat general in nature, too.

We can keep three players from the previous year by adding $3 to their salary ($270 cap, roster below). I'm keeping Anquan and Gore, both at excellent values. My dilemma then involves my third keeper. I can't make up my mind between Portis and his high-but-not-terribly-high salary (still some value, at least until the injury) and Galloway, who is dirt cheap. Further compounding the problem is that of the top 20 RBs or so, we will likely be left with Rudi, KJones, Westy, and Dunn (Edge and LT2 maybe, depending on their owner's decision). Not sure what to do, and that brings me to my general question:

Do you go with the better value now (Galloway, hands down) even though it might not be as high a quality player, or do you keep the reasonably sure-thing (Portis - I'm well aware of the risk), so that you can definitely be ok at RB? My head is spinning, and I've got until Thursday to figure it out. I'm glad for any specific help you can give me, but I'm also interested in how you guys handle keeping players in an auction setting.

Thanks!

Matt
