Austin Seferian-Jenkins - What do you think? (1 Viewer)

Again the key here is McCown.  We know he lives to throw to the te.  Just like Watson is a good bet BC flacco loves to theownto the te.  Except ASJ is younger and more talented than Watson.  Albeit more brittle.

The Jets declared QB Christian Hackenberg, TE Will Tye, RB Matt Forte, CB Derrick Jones, TE Jordan Leggett, OLB Josh Martin and T Brandon Shell inactive against the Jaguars in Week 4.

With Tye being a healthy scratch, that's a good sign this could be the week Austin Seferian-Jenkins gets it going. The Jaguars have been 29th against tight ends in PPR league so far, so give ASJ a look if you're looking to take a chance.
ASJ will get pretty much all the TE snaps now.

EDIT:

Austin Seferian-Jenkins is expected to get extra snaps with the Jets declaring Will Tye inactive.

Last week, Tye saw 22 snaps compared to ASJ's 48 and Neal Sterling also getting seven. With Tye gone, Seferian-Jenkin's snap share should be over the 76 percent from last week and he could have some extra targets going his way with Matt Forte (toe) out today. He's a solid streaming option for those with tight end concerns.

From the little I've seen of the Jets game... they're asking him to block a lot. Going to OT he's 4/46 so far, not sure how many targets. McCown has been abysmal.

Jets waived TE Will Tye.

With Austin Seferian-Jenkins active and cooking, Tye was a healthy scratch for Week 4. The ex-Giant caught four passes in three games.
Wow... so it's basically rookies behind him now. ASJ now is a legit upside TE2 with TE1 potential, weekly floor of 4-5 based on volume.

ESPN New York expects the Jets to feature Austin Seferian-Jenkins in Week 5 against the Browns.

Seferian-Jenkins has been one of Josh McCown's top targets since returning from suspension. He played on 77 percent of snaps last week and should continue to see a bigger role. Seferian-Jenkins has blowup potential in a matchup with a Cleveland secondary that's allowed a league-high 31 receptions and four touchdowns to tight ends.
Here we go.

Have Clay and will probably start him ...but damn I am so close to sticking ASJ in there before kick off.  Clay has a tough match up with Cincy #4 against TEs ...

I have Ertz who is up against the #3 TE Def, but I know I can't sit him.  I am having a really tough time setting my lineup this week, in part because i want so bad to get ASJ in there.  I am sitting Gore who has a great matchup, and sitting Crabtree coming off an injury with EJ at QB,  (TE premium league)  Gore could replace Howard, but I just don't feel good about it.  So tough this week.  Fantasy football is fun when you make the right choice, and so annoying when you make the wrong choice.

ASJ has to be the #1 target on the Jets and Cleveland has been putrid against TE for years,  I don't know how you sit him.  Great play in Daily also.

(cynic viewpoint:  fantasy karma says he will go 2-17-0)

He’s had pretty good targets his first two weeks back (6 & 4). His great matchup this week means I’m starting him over Graham (11 & 6) who has a tough matchup.

Starting him because of Gronk. It's all right there for him to have a huge day. Which makes me believe he will just have the same kind of day he's been having. Just hoping he squeezes a TD in there.

6-65-1

Same boat. At least his floor seems nice.

But my luck with spot starts this year hasn’t been too nice.

Starting him over Witten. Have Eifert in 1 of 2 IR slots; would prefer to drop him outright if ASJ starts putting together good weeks.

This is his last shot at staying in the league. He's been a disappointment so far but not because of what I've seen on the field. He's one of the better TE prospects to come along in the last 10 years. Lets see if he grew up and got the help he needed. He could be one of the best TE in the league......

You look at players like Brate that are not flashy but flat out produce vs. guys like ASJ or Ebron that jump out of the gym but always find a way to disappoint.

Not exactly the smorgasbord we were expecting based on the comments about ASJ being “featured”, but the TD was nice.

actually worked out really lucky for me. I didn’t trust MBryant with the flu so I picked up ASF as a flex player with high hopes in a league I’ve got Brate/Clay.

Lost Clay so ASF plugs right in as a BYE week flex & a TE1-2 playing the matchups.

I’m so glad I kept him over J. Smith during cut-down time at the beginning of the year.

im starting him along with Kelce from here on out.

Dude is money!

Tex

I vaguely remember some guy on here claiming ASJ was better than Ebron and everybody was laughing at him. I wonder if anybody who ownd Ebron now would reject a ASJ for Ebron offer? Lolol
