Kyler’s speed prevents Ford and Bosa from pinning their ears back and attacking the QB. Without their pressure the defense isn’t anything special.

I dunno - I think it has more to do with JimmyG having no receivers & the D being gassed. They looked good in the 1st half.

Murray gave them the same kinds of problems last year. It’s not a great matchup for SF. That’s not why they lost - that’s on the offense - but it’s why the defense didn’t look as dominant today, I think.

They lost because they got away from what was working. Devoid of receivers, Shanny inexplicably kept trying to get chunk plays downfield on 2nd and 8 or 2nd & 7 instead of short throws underneath of with runs on 2nd to make 3rd and manageable.

Losing Kittle hurt them a lot. Their continuity was crap. All those 3rd and longs they didn’t convert.
