Backup RBs...who's your 2nd Half Lottery Ticket? (1 Viewer)

Bell is intriguing because if NO wraps up their division they may want to rest either Bush (nothing like a rested bush I always say) or PT giving Bell a larger work load during our fantasy playoffs......

Not happening as long as home field is not wraped up. Vikings are only one game back.

1. For the 2nd Half of the year, what RBs do you like to take over and provide some FF value?

2. Which do you consider to be lottery tickets if the guy ahead of them goes out with injury?

3. Which of these guys are you dropping?

1. Decent value now?

Jon Stewart Good TD chances vs. bad rush DEF, should be a very good start if DeAngelo misses time.

Reggie Bush Decent start in PPR while L. Moore is out? He had 7 catches last week (up from fewer than 4 touches/game the last couple weeks) and has received some goalline carries. Touches would go up with MBell or PThomas injury.

Mi Bell Not sure about receptions, but will get the carries in NO if PT loses any time.

R. Moats Goalline, 50% carries, some catches? Will his fumble get him benched?

L. Betts Should get carries next week (vs. DEN, though), might get more if Portis doesn't come back right away? Seems to lose goalline to Rock Cartwright and/or catches to Sellers? Not exactly a bonanza Offense.

Maurice Morris How hurt is Kevin Smith, and do you want the #2 RB in DET?

Kolby Smith, Jamaal Charles The b/w the tackles and 3rd down back on KC? Any takers? Dantrell Savage being worked in?

Darren McFadden Will he regain his job? RBBC with Fargas on a bad offense?

D. Sproles

J. Harrison

2. Lottery Ticket?

Beanie Wells: Seems to be helping the ARI rushing attack...might be a good late year RB3/Flex vs. bad opponents?

T. Choice Third down touches and some Wildcat...but really no chance for consistency unless Felix or MBIII are out?

3. Droppable?

Fred Jackson

Shonne Green

Michael Bush

Edit to add Mi Bell, Jerome Harrison, D.Sproles,
I'd rather have Larry Whitmore than Jon stewart. I mean he is black, and JS is a tiny lil jewish kid with manicured nails.

the answer is Jerome Harrison.
I think you're bloody on to something. Browns going nowhere. Lewis talking retirement. The only thing wrong with this picture is; Mangini.
chris jennings seems to be the lotto ticket in cleveland now over jerome harrison..."[Thu Nov 19, 7:42 PM] Chris Jennings appears to be the lastest RB that the Browns will take a look at. 'We wanted to take a look at Chris because I think he's earned a look based on the things that he's done and that was something that we did this past week,' coach Eric Mangini said. 'If he continues to progress in practice, I think that will continue to be the case.' It seems Jenning's increased playing time is coming at the expense of Jerome Harrison."

not that i think it will happen but IF the saints did pull away from minnesota and secure HF advantage prior to week 16, i have an itchy feeling that lynell hamilton would be the lotto ticket in new orleans, not mike bell. could easily see them resting PT, bush and bell, and having lynell tote the rock 25 times in that week 16 game at home vs TB.FWIW, the RB playoff lotto tix i like (guys that should be available now in most leagues--excluding more obvious players previously discussed like forsett, j charles, etc) are:1 - rashad jennings (jax)2 - danny ware (nyg)3 - simpson/mike hart (indy)4 - lex hilliard/kory sheets (mia)5 - hamilton (n.o.)6 - chris jennings (clev)

Louis Rankin for 2010 actually. Hopefully he can get enough playing time to eliminate Julius Jones permanently. I like Forsett but the 'Hawks love Rankin.

LMAO at the clueless Raiders assessment of Rankin.

How to suck at coaching:

Rankin: I don't think they expected me to do as much as I did. In Oakland they already had my role picked out no matter. I told the coach, 'if I went out and scored every play you guys would still have me in the same position you do right now.' He didn't disagree with it," Rankin said. "Going in there that was something I dreaded … but I think I got what I needed to get out of Oakland and things are working out right now."

My lottery picks at the draft were Leon Washington  and Chester Taylor.

The last month, I've made under-the-radar picks of Wells, Forsett and Betts - each before they had any of their breakout games. Of those three, I think Betts has the best chance of putting up consistent numbers, and Wells should get even more carries/GL looks going forward.

These guys allowed me to trade Taylor today to the AP owner for Hester.

I like the Ware call.. He's probably nowhere near being on the radar in most redrafts, and the odds of Bradshaw staying healthy is slim, IMO.

Does anyone have any updates they'd like to add to this? I think Gartrell Johnson is now worth mentioning.

Chris Brown? He is splitting carries with Slaton and gets goal line looks. That's worth something if you are a fantasy owner whose RB2 or flex RB has been lost to injury.

Week 15 @ DET

Week 16 vs STL

That right there is enough reason to be excited about Wells. Even if he only got 50% of the carries in those games, he would still have monster potential.
