Is it me or does Rodgers sometimes rely on penalties too much?

I see him do that a lot - instead of going through his reads he looks for a receiver getting held and throws at him regardless that he knows it can never be caught.

i guess it's smart football, but if the refs don't see it, it don't work.

Barkley has 4 interceptions and 3 fumbles in 50 career pass attempts. I'm sure working with Cutler has helped him improve on those issues.

13 games for Rodgers. Throwing to Janis on third down. This offense is ugly. No RB's WR's can't get deep. TE doesn't exist.
Yeah, I tried really hard to get a redraft deal done for Jordy and now I'm glad the other owner didnt bite.

This offense has looked bad for a year and a half now.

Some of this is on Rodgers but I feel like a lot of it is McCarthy.

Commentators keep speculating Hoyer hurt it when he hit the ground. Looked to me like his arm was initially struck by Matthews' helmet as his arm was outstretched against the D-lineman.
Exactly what I saw. Forearms don't bend around helmets very well. A lot of momentum on the arm.

Would love to see Barkley live up to the potential he had coming out. Looks reasonable so far.

Explain to me how a team sees the opposition go to their backup QB who has barely practiced with his team, and proceed to allow the run game to gash them repeatedly?  Wouldn't you sell out on the run until the QB gets his feet under him and proves he can move the ball?

It's been discussed in the Packers thread. At times it seems his main focus is on drawing penalties, like its his most potent weapon.

Sucks for Hoyer. He seems like a good guy that was making the most of another opportunity. But looks like the Jay Cuter era will continue for now.

Second half will be a different story.

You pansies think Ronnie Lott would be riding some cart if he broke his arm?  He'd punch the guy in face (with his bad arm) for even suggesting he get on a cart.

Well Metrdith owners it was a nice ride.
Meredith is doing well blocking tonight.  Hopefully I can get 4 for 40 out of him and salvage this awful idea to start him over demaryius Thomas.  Lesson learned.  Don't get cute and play matchups.  Just start studs and deal with the consequences

Brees had a period where he fell into this. He started to think he was really clever drawing linemen over the line, and I guess he was, but eventually the refs started calling false starts, then it just stopped working.

Yeah he would   Faster travel to get a huge cast in place   Hed probably insist on both arms in casts  So as to avoid the extra steel inside the cast throwing his balance off
