Beason? (1 Viewer)

He has looked indecisive between the tackles and is getting beat on the edge. Is he still hurt?
He's had a center or guard coming to the second level often, staying in his run fits well (Fox's non-base 4-3 tends to be read-and-react) and pushing plays to the sideline where his OLB and S are struggling to make a tackle. He's getting good depth on his pass drops. He's made 17% of his team's solos and the Dolphins are on pace for only 22 rush attempts and 42 tackle opportunities overall. I think he looks okay.

Thanks Jene. I think I was just shocked when I saw a 32 year old Ricky Williams beat him on that TD.
No worries. I'm rooting for Beason to rack up some numbers tonight, too.I think Ricky looks like he's 26 tonight, don't you? Powerful, decisive between the tackles and has the footwork to accelerate to the corner.

Yes he does Jean. Being out of football for awhile and splitting time the past few years seems to have preserved his body some.

Jene,

There have been 2-3 times were Ricky ran right up the gut and Beason just missed. Especially in this last 46 yard TD.

I NEVER remember him doing things like this before. But, I will take the 7 solos!

Tough to know whether he's had a two gap on some of the earlier ones or if he's fussing at his OLB who should have been scraping. That TD run was on Beason, though. And his home stat crew has miscredited a solo or two. Corrected one, but missed at least one other.

Yes, I noticed that as well. They had one play marked as (Diggs, Harris) and changed it shortly thereafter. He should be at 9-0 or 8-1 on my count but like you said the stat crew was sleeping. I am used to this though because I own Ray Lewis as well. Also, tonight the stat crew is using a mix of the comma and semicolon. It seems that if one player is clearly 1st in on the play they are using the comma system and awarding a solo for the 1st player and an assist for the 2nd. But if both players reach the ball carrier at the same time then the semicolon is being used to give both players assists. Regardless, assists have been at a premium tonight especially for the Panthers.

Landon Johnson's apparent re-injury may help Beason's stats as Landon was doing a pretty decent job chasing down plays in run and pass situations. don't know what Landon was thinking taking on Lousaka Polite so many times....................if finally ended badly
