He is as close to god as it gets with FFL RB's. Never lead the league in rushing? so what?Billy Ball Thorton said:I would if I like my other options. People talk as if LT is god. Common sense says the REAL reason Schottenheimer starts LT is in an effort to motivate Michael Turner...He is as close to god as it gets with FFL RB's. I could care less about leading the league in rushing. So what if someone else out rushes my LT by 50 yards and gets the rushing title. If LT out gains the league leader by 400 yards receiving and has 3 more total TDs, I'll call that success.I would if I like my other options. People talk as if LT is god. Here is was an interesting comment on stopping LT:As Trevor Pryce said to me today, you don't shut down Tomlinson. You hope he gets food poisoning the night before.(from Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times)
In my opinion I would not be able to bring myself to bench LT in favor of CT this week. I would bench him forLJSo, what rule of thumb do you apply to arrive at that decision regarding say, the LT2 vs CTaylor dilemna this week?I would if I like my other options. I was not bashing him as much as trying to make a point he has bad games like anyone else. Trying to illustrate he can be stopped from TIME to TIME.I could care less about leading the league in rushing. So what if someone else out rushes my LT by 50 yards and gets the rushing title. Unless you were in a PPR. He had a dearth of TDs, but he still put up good numbers in a PPR - an extra 3 points per game over his no-PPr numbers. He wasn't "the man," but he DID have over 10 FF points per game in PPR leagues.Agreed. Although benching him down the stretch last year after his rib injury would have been reasonable, and as it turned out, generally the right move.I sit him once a year when they play that vaunted BYE defense.
If LT was ruled out because of injury....I'd still play him..He's that good....
Fair enough. I'm in a TD-heavy league, so the impact was much more severe there.Unless you were in a PPR. There is one player in the NFL who I would never bench, no matter who else I have on my team, no matter the matchups. LT is that player.Anybody thinking of pointing him to the bench against the vaunted Ravens defense?
I pretty much agree with you, although I would put Peyton Manning in the same category. There is one player in the NFL who I would never bench, no matter who else I have on my team, no matter the matchups. Arguably, but I could imagine benching him for a healthy Palmer against AZ or Green Bay, or others.I pretty much agree with you, although I would put Peyton Manning in the same category. There is one player in the NFL who I would never bench, no matter who else I have on my team, no matter the matchups. I would venture a guess that LT "fell" to him at #10 during his draft too.Why don't people who do dumb crap like this ever play in the same leagues I do?![]()
Why?proninja said:All of this aside, I'd much rather lose with LT in my lineup and a bench RB going off than a bench RB hitting his average and losing because LT hit his average.
I would trade him if I had him. Looks like plenty of people would be willing to overpay for him.Vibe Raiders said:Anyone who has LT and sits him doesn't deserve him! Trade Now!!!![]()
The implication is that if he had started LT and LT hit his average, he'd have won the game, but he lost b/c he started his bench RB and that RB hit his average. Why?proninja said:All of this aside, I'd much rather lose with LT in my lineup and a bench RB going off than a bench RB hitting his average and losing because LT hit his average.
