Bengals Thursday injury update, WR Houshmandzadeh not in pads

Cornerback Deltha O'Neal (knee), who did not practice Wednesday, was back at practice this afternoon for the Bengals.

Other good news for the Bengals: Left tackle Levi Jones (ankle) was at practice and dressed in gear -- shorts, practice jersey, shoulder pads and helmet, along with wide receiver Chris Henry. Henry (groin) and Jones were listed as probable Wednesday. The official injury report will not be available until after practice at 4 p.m.

Wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh (heel) was on the field early but did not wear shoulder pads. He caught some passes and ran in receiver drills. He is questionable.

Defensive tackle Sam Adams (knee) was on the field in workout clothes but not practicing.

Right tackle Willie Anderson, left guard Eric Steinbach and linebacker Brian Simmons were not on the field early, either.

This info's of interest as well. Even if CJ and TJ play, Henry might not be a bad gamble given how the Bengals have thrown TD passes to their No. 3 WR in each of the first two games.

i need some good news regarding Housh. I have a ww transaction pending for Moss (I'd be dropping Bennett). Fitz is my current #1 and Housh is my #2. Moss would be on bye week so if Housh doesn't play i'm basically wooped because this week has been extremely active for WR on the ww and not much left.

Ya I'm in the same boat with Housh LPAD.....but if he doesn't play i'll either have to drop him and pickup Colston or Berrian ect. or take a zero at the wr2 spot.....YIKES....Have no more room on my roster. He is single-handedly killing me this year.

I don't need him this week with Boldin & Holt (went RB/WR/WR), but it would be nice to see him play a game before I need him on bye weeks.

You must be talking about Sinorice Moss, because there's no way that Randy Moss or even Santana Moss would be available on waivers, right? I mean, I know that they've both started slow, but geez...

Maybe he is referring to Randy Moss and he needs a replacement for his bye  .

I am in fact talking about Randy Moss. The guy dropped him for Cotchery. Of course I put in for him as soon as I saw it but I know at least one other person did too. I am number 2 on the waiver order so I have a good chance of getting him.

however, like I said I would be completely stuck if I did get him and then Housh didn't play. Then I'd have to either not play a WR which is suicide or drop Housh for bottom of the barrell fa and then try to pick Housh back up (yeah, fat chance) when he comes off waivers.

Wow. How many teams, LPAD? Are there any other players you could drop other than Housh?

In my PPR 10 team league, the Randy Moss owner really did just drop him to waivers. It is hilarious how much flack he took for it and how rabbidly he has rationalized it. I'm tempted to post the logs. And guess who the #1 waiver pick was for this week!

Desmond Clark?

katar,

this is a 12 team league. Problem is our limited bench spots- only 4 with 11 starters. I keep 4 RB, 2 QB, and 3 WR. We start 2 RB, 2WR and 1QB.

MY RB's are : Jordan, Gore, Dunn, Foster

WR (as of now prior to my pending ww transaction): Fitz, Housh, Bennett

QB: Hass, Grossman

I would be more inclined to drop Foster if Housh doesn't play. He seems to be on a decline in production and involved in a RBBC approach in Car. I just saw too much from Housh at the end of last season and in preseason to give up on him that quickly. Do you think if you dropped Foster someone would pick him up?

T.J. Houshmandzadeh, WR CIN

News: Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (heel) did not practice with the team on Thursday and is still listed as questionable for Week 3 at Pittsburgh. Contrary to the NFL injury report published Wednesday that Houshmandzadeh practiced with the team, according to Thursday's report he has not practiced all week.
