Best albums of 2016 (1 Viewer)

Har Mar Superstar played his new album top to bottom at a little club show in St. Paul Wednesday night. It's a short and sweet (30ish minutes) group of songs that let him croon about love lost while also getting you to bop your head. I can't wait to listen to the studio versions.

I only played it once from your link, but I liked what I heard.  I went and pre ordered on Amazon and got the "in Bloom" cover plus another song.  I like both of those.

speaking of- I'm on spotify on my phone, but it's only doing shuffle. I can't seem to keep the shuffle only for THIS album- shuffles across all the albums, which is getting in the way of listening (and especailly because it's locked in on getting me to Stoned and Starving, my favorite of theirs). any ideas how to fix this?

and tbh- this is probably my favorite band of the last couple years. them and savages. and that tennis racquet band.

I assume you've tried everything I would try. Make sure you're on the album and not just their songs and I assume you know that the interlocking arrows means it's on shuffle. Incidentally, do you randomize when you're listening to an album, track order be damned?

 
The mobile version appears to only shuffle. I think. As far as I know. No idea really... can I get this to NOT shuffle on mobile?

But when I listen to a new album for the firat few times, I listen in order start to finish the way they intended us to hear it. After that,  shuffle city or culled out tracks only.

Oh, wait. Are you using the free version? Yeah, it only shuffles and I don't think it'll allow you to limit it to a single album.

Really digging "Glaziao" by Go Cozy. Layered, shoegazy-type music that sounds truly fantastic on headphones. The most enjoyable album I've heard in quite a while.

Full album came out today.  After another listen, it's really good.  Potentially better than his last.

It's been leaked. LOVE PJ, but after a few spins I don't know what to think. It's not "weird", but it just doesn't rock too much. It seems like kinda a story in songs or some other concept BS. I was pumped to find it and excited to listen....then  :sadbanana: . She's one of my all time favorites, so I'll give it some more spins but it was a letdown after being geeked for it.

After a couple spins over the weekend I'm coming around to liking it. Different from the first two obviously. I think I would like it more if I had kids. Still can't get over how awesome Metamodern is.

 
I like the new We Are Scientists album, Helter Seltzer. RIYL mid-00's poppy indie bands who you probably thought were from the UK but are actually from New York. I've never stopped listening to "The Scene is Dead" and "Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt" from their first album but haven't really paid attention to them since, but the first single from Helter Seltzer "Buckle" is catchy as hell, so I gave them a chance. They don't sound anything like Interpol any more. That might have been She Wants Revenge anyway.

same. thought their debut was pretty great, even if not really my scene. the second was lost on me, so I gave up. did they have more? was interested in seeing what direction they've gone.

btw- IMO, Savages still AOTY, followed by parquet courts. quarts. quartz.

My brother was recently signed by Sirup Music, EDX's Swiss label, and his first single released on Monday! (Tropical house music)

I really liked Parc Avenue and La La Land and really disliked The End of That. 

 
I am not a country music fan.... but why do I like Margo Price's album so much?  Maybe the Jack White influence?  Maybe the fact that she sings about getting drunk on whiskey a lot?  Not sure, but I dig it.
