Well, hell. All of these b sides are good. That Radiohead song Lift from their OK Computer anniversary issue is awesome. Takes me back to when they used to do stuff I like.

Thanks for the playlists guys. It's just what I need.
sweet jeebus... this is a head melterWestern Addiction is my new jam.
I ran across the single for Taedium in my discover weekly playlist a few months back, dug the song, added it to my 2017 list. Then I forgot about it. Anyway, I had the list on random over the weekend and ran across the song again, dug it again, and looked to see if the album was out. It was, and it rules. It's Hardcore punk, but it's not really hardocre or really punk. It's pretty much just badass garage rock that makes me want to dance while my face melts.
Good times.
Did you listen to that Golden Pelicans album? This reminds me a little of that.Jaysus said:Western Addiction is my new jam.

terrified, actually ... quit 'discovering' about a decade or so ago :(
been back on IDLES the last couple days... so, so good.you and me both.El Floppo turned me on to this in the punk thread I bumped.
Idles' "Brutalism" is the first new punk album I've heard in a long time that I've liked. It's out there, but it's good. I mean really good. They're punk, but they have a System Of A Down vibe going on with the lyrics and delivery that pushes them over the top. They can also be crazily melodic.
It's heavy, it's barked lyrics, it's funny, it's sad, it's angry. I haven't been able to stop listening for, oh, two or three days now.

this and that cumbia/punk Malportado Kids album... which is way out of my wheelhouse, but I can't stop (also from 2015, so not "current" for this thread).
I just added Idles to my list to check out a few hours ago... and have been listening to Blood Command in the meantime - they call themselves "deathpop". How can I not listen to something called deathpop? I think I kinda like it.been back on IDLES the last couple days... so, so good.
deathpop has more of a ring to it than punk/cumbia, that's for sure.I just added Idles to my list to check out a few hours ago... and have been listening to Blood Command in the meantime - they call themselves "deathpop". How can I not listen to something called deathpop? I think I kinda like it.

Date Night is currently my earworm.
I picked Gotho 1049 as a punk song in that Genrepalooza draft. Instant classic punk song. The part where he breaks into "Yeah yeah yeah yeah" just soars.the gotho 123 or whatever is mine. along with well done
I actually did not make it to the end of the album... I kept wanting to go back to the new McCafferty EP, which has been pretty much all I have listened too since it dropped.I picked Gotho 1049 as a punk song in that Genrepalooza draft. this is in my wheelhouse - niceanother friday, another release radar playist...
three songs in, and Bronx's new single, Sore Throat, just kicked my ###. they do a nice job straddling punk/post/metal. somebody here... I think redmond... was pimping their foray into mariachi (kinda interesting). nice to hear them back to setting fire to ears- really liked their last one Bronx IV... hopefully we'll have Bronx V out soon.
eta: sorry- it's The Bronx
มันหิน *Ruh-rohLol check out that Men single.
this was basically a failed friday, algorithmically.Friday release radar time
looking down the list prior to listening, looks like the full Arcade Fire album is out finally. looking forward to hearing new Districts, Perfect ##### and The Men singles.
will report back later- my playlist is starting with Alt-J, How to Dress Well and Elbow remixes, which don't really count.
eta: arcade fire song was less techno-poppy than their earlier released singles... I guess I'll have to listen to the album now.
the Fall have a new album? smith sounds like he can give even less vocal ####s now. which means it still sounds awesome.
Was hoping Reflektor was their low point, nope.Arcade Fire's album is getting (deservedly) reviewed about as well as The Emoji Movie.
Sucks. Oh well. Was hoping Reflektor was their low point, nope.
