My dynasty league is thinking about doing a "best ball" or whatever you call it league this season on the side. This is the type of league where you go through a normal draft for your roster, but then it's totally hands off from there. Your "best lineup" is always set for you each week, there is no "head to head" matchups as it's all points based, and we kick out the lowest scoring team each week starting in week 3 or something like that. There are no waivers or trades....what you draft if what you get.
My question is has anyone done a league like this, and what's the best strategy to implement?
My initial thought with the new high octane throwing offenses in the league is to get a minimum of 3 QBs, as you'll get a good/great output from at least one every week, and if you're stuck with only 1 great QB (Cam, Brady, Brees) and then a guy like Moore or Gabbert or an Arizona QB....you're really up a creek if your #1 goes down or has a bye or has a bad matchup.
Next, I think you should get a few "if they just get a shot" type guys - Ben Tate, Redman, Spiller come to mind. Maybe even Javid Best as when he's healthy....
Any other suggestions for this type of league?
