Best intro in music... (1 Viewer)

Ha, I have a buddy who did the same thing with Ordinary Man back in the day, but he has come around to liking that intro.

For me, Ordinary Man has long been my favorite song by Triumph, one of the great underrated rock bands of the late 70s/early 80s.
Rik Emmett is wildly underrated.

The Final Countdown
The song is decent, but that intro, with an actual countdown until the drums start, is pretty epic.

I would also suggest the opening to "You Spin Me Round," where the instruments come in one at a time. I always enjoyed it.

Here is one that is vocal. The first minute of 'Bad Company' by Bad Company has Paul Rodgers singing slowly over a quiet piano and guitar background; at almost exactly 1:00, the heavier guitar kicks in and the song is off.

This has been one of my favorites for a long time, was 15 when Bad Co's greatest hits album "10 from 6" came out, and it took me a while to figure out what the name meant, and it has stuck as one of the more clever album names.

But it should have been called 10 from 5 as they forgot to put Burnin' Sky on the album.

i dunno about intros, but i LOVE the end of all their [RUSH] songs!!

I guess I wasn't thinking so much of the beginnings of their songs as the intro for this concert. And watching Neil caress his drums.with tough love!

While not the best intro in music, the sweet guitar work that opens Roundabout by YES still makes me wish I'd learned to play.

Always been partial to Israel K's brief intro to Somewhere over the Rainbow.  So basic but fits the song mood.  I saw him once by total happenstance.  The intro was much longer live.  But this is the only one I could find on youtube.

Too bad he kicked the bucket from weight.  I had never even heard of him when I saw him perform.  Sweet voice.
I know I'm really late to this party, but this one and this version are great.

The intro I really like is this one

Was going to put this one in a bit ago, but I wanted to use it for the "Oscars Music Draft' so I didn't want to mention it.

I had seen this video on Facebook. I was hugely impressed with the way they did the warm-up to their show. While looking into on Spotify, I could only find it on a live album. In doing further research, found it to be a cover song. Perfect for the draft!

Voodoo Child, Icky Thump, and Tenth Avenue Freeze Out for me.  Night is another cool Springsteen one.
