Best Jelly Beans (1 Viewer)

TheIronSheik

SUPER ELITE UPPER TIER
I love jelly beans. Like, addicted to them. You can get some nice off brands that taste good, but I find myself always looking for something better.

Jelly Bellys are fun for a little bit, but you can't really put a bunch in your mouth at the same time. And I don't want to eat pear, coffee or vomit.

I'm not a fan of black jelly beans. When it comes to jelly beans, I'm like the Grand Wizard of the KKK: I don't like the black ones. As of now, I love the Starburst jelly beans. They are the best for me. This year I tried the Jolly Rancher ones, which aren't bad, and the Laffy Taffy ones, which are horrible.

Anyone have favorites when it comes to jelly beans? What's you go to brand?

First bag of the season was jolly rancher. Kids loved them but I thought they were terrible. Way too sweet, almost to bitter levels.

I'll stick with Brachs from now on.

Just picked up a jar of jelly belly's from costco - some interesting flavors - right now buttered popcorn in the club house with the worst taste.

In general, I prefer Brach's Jelly Beans to other brands.

Those look awesome. Been eating Starburst again after a run in the '90s.

All in all, though, the Jelly Belly individual flavors are the best. I understand Sheik's criticism, but if you can somehow get away from the original forty flavors, you've done yourself a solid in the jelly bean department.

I like the crunch with the Nerd ones. They only come out during Easter. My wife makes fun of me because I'll go to 5Below and buy like $25 worth to last me the whole year. I'm not big on sweet snacks...more of a salty guy, but these things are so good.

I've heard of Mike & Ike jelly beans but have not seen them yet. I love Mike & Ike's. I haven't seen the Nerd ones either.

When I first tasted Jelly Bellys 20 years ago, I hated buttered popcorn. It was disgusting. My favorite of all time is Toasted Marshmallow. Oddly, now, I think Buttered Popcorn is in my top 5 favorite flavors. Not sure what changed.

I like regular old school jelllybeans over jellybelly.

For christmas, I got some of those joke jelly beans that taste like dirt or vomit, etc. I could not swallow the vomit one. They recreated the taste of vomit so accurately it made me retch.

I just threw down a bag of Swedish Fish jellybeans. Hadn't seen them before and, well, you sorta need to like Swedish Fish. I thought they were outstanding.

This is how my SIL's ex-boyfriend first endeared himself to my girlfriend (now wife) and I when they first started dating - He ate a whole box of the joke beans.

I licked the ear wax one and gagged.

I ate the skunk flavor. The taste stuck with me for 3 days.

Love Jelly Belly's. Don't mind that you can't just pile a handful into your mouth. I like picking out flavors, mixing them to get interesting tastes; tons of fun.

We have also picked up the jars from Costco; but they have a problem, the jelly beans disappear somehow.

Was my first thought when I saw this thread.
Dislike the buttered popcorn, but despise the coffee/cappuccino flavored. Usually have to spit them out. Luckily my wife loves them, so they get eaten.

I can eat every other flavor.

I can't get down with jelly belly beans. Any "normal" individual JB bean is going to be better then a generic bean. Problem is the better tasting bean is more then offset by having to shake though half the bag in order to avoid the guacamole flavored bean or the pad Thai bean.

Pass.

Or the ones with the all reds.

Sour patch jelly beans are good in small doses.
These sound great on paper. But they are not as good as you think. It's like strawberry, cherry and watermelon. The watermelon is just too overpowering and kills the other two flavors. And since they all look the same, you can't weed out the watermelon.

My daughter introduced me to the Jellybelly Bean Boozled pack. They give you a good flavor and bad flavor in the same package and the beans look exactly alike. Like jelly bean Russian Roulette.

Tried 3 new flavors last night:

Sweetarts - They were OK. But not great. They have the texture of the LaffyTaffy ones, which are horrible.

Jolly Rancher Wild Berry - Pretty decent. Above average but not great.

Starburst Wacky - It says it's like two flavors in one, but I couldn't tell a difference from the normal ones.

I saw some LifeSaver ones, but for some reason I opted not to get them. I regretted the decision as soon as I got home.

no need to regret. they're not great. not nearly as good as the starburst or jolly rancher ones.

Starburst JB --- Love the bag of all Fav Reds ! perfect for movie night

Tried Swedish Fish last year....WAY too sweet for me....Tasted nothing like swedish fish, which are an addiction to me.

Jelly Belly - IMO not worth the extra $$

Started on the Laffy Taffy and SweeTart jelly beans tonight. So far, the Laffies are the winner, but I'd rank them way behind Jelly Bellys and Starburst.

On a side note: For all those religious folks who love sugar with their ascendance, Happy Easter, brohans.
