Best Lakes in your State (1 Viewer)

Enchantment Lakes (haven't been)
Most beautiful place I've ever been. The name is apropos, and I think about going back all the time. We spent six days hiking in from Staurt Lake Trail and continuing all the way through to Icicle Creek Road. The lakes are ice cold and, in the Upper Basin, often iced over—sometimes big and opaque like Colchuck or small, clear and lifeless like Tranquil lake. All beautiful and unique. I highly recommend making the trip.

Mullet Lake

Higgins Lake

Lake Superior

Lake Huron

Lake Michigan

Only got to experience it for 24 hours, but it was absolutely splendid. Would love to spend more time there. Gorgeous lake and surrounding area.

Minnesota:

Lake Superior

Lake Vermillion

Lake of the Woods

Lake Minnetonka

Mille Lacs Lake

(or pick from any of the other 11,837 lakes)
The Midwest is phenominnal.

There are more than 11,000 inland lakes, 5 acres in size or larger, in Michigan. According to the Michigan Historical Society, one is never more than 6 miles from an inland lake or more than 85 miles from one of the Great Lakes.
Aren't all lakes inland?

The best ones are. I'm not a fan of lakes in the middle of the ocean.

Did this last summer. Hiked the same way you did, the hike over Aasgard pass was hardest hike I have ever done but am very glad we did it that way.

Highly recommended if you like hiking.

You'd take Mullet over Burt?
I would calmly discuss it.
I like Houghton over HigginsSuperior - too cold.

I live right on Erie, very under rated lake IMO

Michigan is the best IMO
Erie is too dirty.Higgins Lake is awesome, deep and beautiful. My cabin is near Houghton Lake and I go all the time, but it's not my kind of lake. If you like water sports and stuff, you can't beat it though.
Every time me or someone I know goes into Higgins any more u get the swimmers itch.Erie has really cleaned up, zebra muscles
Toxic Algae Goose droppingsPlastic at record levelsYou can keep it, give me the upper great lakes or the inland lakes.
Lol goose droppings
Damn Canadians.
