Best landing spot for Alex Green (or Starks) if traded/cut? (1 Viewer)

With McCarthy's recent endorsement of Harris (probably some Lacy motivational ploy in there too) and the recent chatter that Alex Green is being shopped....1. Is there anything to see here with these two. 2. Which one gets traded/cut if any / or both? 3. Where is an ideal RB spot open for one of these guys?

A lot of camp reports said Green looked like he had his pre-injury burst back and looked back/good. He started camp running with the first team reps while the rookies ramped up. Even got 1st team reps later on into camp. It's fluctuated in and out, but his camp seemed like it went pretty good and most important he was healthy (meaning he wasn't fully healthy in '12). Same can be said for Starks, although he never seemed as talented as Green could be. Both could be brought initially as a backup and maybe earn role player reps for a weak RB team, then take over if injuries hit into the season. I'd probably be more interested in Green than Starks based on history and past situations though.

Pure speculation, but possible landing spots if traded:

Jets - no explanation needed. Seems like it would be a fit. Ivory/Green/Powell/Spann. Just brought on Kahlil Bell, so they know they have problems and are searching for a stop gap.

AZ - Mendy and Williams have knee issues going on. Green not a bad insurance. 2 rooks and journeymen after that.

Jax - Forsett still gimpy, MJD duct taped together - high mileage

Indi- Bradshaw coming along slow and big injury history

SD - very weak RB corps here

Starks isn't going to be traded; he's had a good camp now that he is healthy. Green will be cut if he can't be traded. They'll keep Lacy/Franklin/Starks/Harris.

Neither of these guys are being traded for. Rumors of interest are probably started by their agents or the team in hopes of creating actual interest. It won't happen, these guys litter practice squads and training camps around the league every year.

If they're trying to trade Greene, it's because he hasn't actually been all that impressive in camp. He has a 3-down skillset and the size to carry that load. Why would they use 2 roster spots (for Starks and Harris) to do what you should be able to do with 1 roster spot?

It would make more sense to jettison Starks and/or Harris if Greene is really doing well because they aren't as complete a back as Greene is supposed to be.

Because Starks and Harris have shown more on the actual field than Green's so called potential.

That said...neither mentioned are worth really paying much attention to barring injuries.

We're really discussing what's going to happen to GB's reject RB's? The same team that hasn't run a lick for the past few seasons.

Makes sense. But then again no one is trading for either Starks or Harris out there IMO. You get something out of Green at least for the exact points you eluded to (3 down skill set, now healthy, can maybe carry the load, unseen potential). I doubt McCarthy would move/cut Harris after he just stuck in his corner like this calling him the starter (I know "for now" etc). But he obviously likes what he can do and has more experience than the rookies.

You won't get something for Green either. It's a pipe dream.

I would speculate Green is PPR draftable very late now that Harris is shelved, no? More so for the Lacy owner maybe or as a RB6-7 depth/flier. He's gotta be on the radar now with Franklin and Starks not showing much so far.

I would agree (in deep leagues and IF you are really desperate or own Lacy).

Basicall,y I wouldn't grab him with expectations but more along the lines of if this, this, and this..then...maybe.
