Better long-term QB..Beck, Kolb, Stanton? (1 Viewer)

Beck may be the earliest to start.

Kolb could be the Eagles guy next year.

How long will Kitna keep Stanton off the field?

Pure speculation, but who has the most value in your eyes?

Stanton since he's in the best offense and could take over as soon as mid 08'.

Kitna is way to mistake prone and takes tons of sacks, which has got him benched everywhere he's played. If Stanton looks good and Kitna falters a bit Stanton will take over sooner rather than later.

Beck is already a senior citizen and is in a bad passing offense.

Kolb could be pretty good, but he's not in as good of a situation as Stanton.

Beck

Kolb

Stanton

Beck is 26. Hardly a senior citizen by NFL QB standards. He's got a clear path to the starter's role, probably yet this year. The Dolphins don't have a great offense right now, but there is nothing saying they won't in a year or two. Beck is the best decision maker of the bunch.

Kolb is probably going to start by 2010, maybe 2009. It just depends on when Philly gets sick of watching McNabb miss open WRs. I think he'll be good.

Stanton may have the best WRs to work with right now, but he is no lock to beat out Kitna next year, especially if Kitna leads them to the playoffs this year, which is a definite possibility at this point. I also think Stanton most resembles Boller and Losman. Big arm, not such great decisions or consistency.

Stanton will start next season imo.
I think Stanton is the best long term prospect of the three, but I don't think there is any chance that he starts next year.
I don't get the no chance thing. You've been around long enough to know that situations change DRASTICALLY from year to year if your not an elite player. If you think Kitna is an elite talent then i can understand the no chance thing, but otherwise it doesn't make much sense to make that statement IMO.Kitna makes tons of mistakes and has always been replaced eventually as a starter throughout his career. He's the type that keeps the seat warm until someone better comes along.

I like Kolb prospects to start soon, McNabb's deal needs to be reworked, Kolb has played well in practice, and wouldnt be suprised if he's given a shot next season.

Marinelli places a lot of things higher than pure talent, and in Kitna's case it's leadership.

I just dont see the upside with Beck,he would probably be no better then Qb20 whereas Kolb and Stanton are in pass friendly offenses that are conducive to high passing yardage.

Since all of this is based on pure speculation, none of us have any real clue what will transpire. In my opinion, Kolb and Beck have the best situations. There is noone in MIami to keep Beck from starting next year unless he just plain sucks. Rumors have run rampant on talk radio that Philly is done with McNabb; throw in the big payday next year on his contract, and I see him in another color jersey next year despite Reid's relationship with this particular QB. Stanton is recovering from major knee surgery. If Kitna makes so many mistakes and holds on to the ball too long, and the Lions can still have only two losses he must bring something else to the table. Of the three Stanton should be the last to see the field barring injuries. Kolb's numbers in college were just plain sick. None of these guys will put up very good numbers for 2 or 3 years, but I think Kolb is the best of the three.

Kolb is going to be very very good.
I second that notion. I got to watch him alot at Univ of Houston. His numbers are good, but he plays even better than those. He is a really, really good QB that is underated. Deuche of a person, but an awesome QB.

Fast forward to today: Detroit has lost 3 in a row, the offense is sputtering - team as a whole is heading in the wrong direction. On reason I spent a pick on Stanton was his new affiliation with Martz. Is there a chance Martz leaves to take a head coaching job next year? Given the team's recent struggles, his value might have taken a hit. When Stanton was put on IR, I hoped the Lions would not do well (sorry, lions fans) because it would lessen the possibility of Martz moving on in 2k8.

So the question is: is there a good likelihood of Martz/Stanton being together in 2008?

TIA.

Mad Mike isn't going to get anothe HC job for a long time.... I think either 3 of these kids has a shot to become something.
