Big Ten Basketball 2022/2023 - Return to Power (1 Viewer)

Wow. That was an ugly game. No idea how they pulled that out, but they did. 2-17 on FGs at one point in the first half, stupid TOs all game long and horrible free throw shooting besides Loyer.

Tennessee defense smothered them all game long. Good indoctrination for Colvin. He came in for just a few minutes and looked like a deer in the headlights.

Really don’t want to see them in the tourney..

Marquette looks scary good. Their relenting defense and pressure is definitely going to turn Purdue over....we'll see how they shoot and respond on D. Tennessee should have toughened them up some for today.

Marquette made it look easy vs. Kansas. Boilers need to clean up the turnovers, make some FT's and get more aggressive on the glass. Sloppy performance vs. Tennessee. Played to lose. Colvin looked lost, and Heide was a non-factor. FT % was ugly; Edey at 52% and Smith at 33%. Loyer bailed them out with a great game.

Thought the Vols played tough D. Lanes were't open and they contested shots. They just couldn't score in stretches and that did them in.

Not sure I like Purdue's starting line-up the past few games. Never been a TKR guy. Much rather have a better perimeter player like Gillis on the floor when Edey is in instead of both those guys on the court. Would really like it if Heide could grow into a starter. Much better athlete. Painter loves him some TKR though.

Hoping for a good game.

Good enough! Take the W and the championship against Zaga, Tennessee, and Marquette. Hell yea.

Definitely some things to work on. Gotta hit those free throws down the stretch. Lance Jones is such a big, new piece for this team and seems like Loyer and Smith are finding a new level.

He seems to be making them better vs. press. What a crazy shot at half. Salukis!
 
Buckeyes get a very good win vs. #17 Alabama to advance to the Emerald Coast Championship.

Santa Clara is a mid-major that could make some noise and give Gonzaga trouble. 6-0 with wins over Stanford and Oregon, should be a good game against Ohio State tomorrow.

The Terps got walloped by Indiana last night. I wasn't able to see the first half or the beginning of the second, but MD got down by 20+ not long after I tuned in. They made a couple of mini-runs, but couldn't throw the ball in the ocean.
 
Guess I’m going to have to start paying attention to this thread in preparation for next year! Went to the Michigan v Oregon game here in Eugene today, a short handed (8 schollie players) Duck squad pulled it out with a three at the OT buzzer for the win. But what stood out was the several hundred Michigan fans in attendance. So many of the schools are so big that they have alumni bases even out here in Oregon. Hope it brings just a little extra energy to games starting next year. And as much as I lament the fall of the P12, as a season ticket holder I’m looking forward to seeing some new opponents. Should be fun!

Really unfortunate they didn't land a PG. Seemed like they had lead on RayJ Dennis but lost out last minute to Baylor.

After Air Podz and Skyy Clark transferred out quickly, you can see why PGs are hesitant to go to Illinois

JMO You can't compete at a high level with Ty Rodgers as your PG or Coleman Hawkins being a key part of your offense. Neither can shoot and bad at the line. You just can't have that to be an upper echelon team IMO.

Absolutely love Domask and Goode. What the program has needed for awhile. I really really hope Moretti or DGL emerge as the point before end of season. DGL absolutely should be getting run. You can't lose him like Air Podz/Clark.
 
I watched the entirety of the Iowa beatdown by Purdue and my eyes are still burning. Trying to be glass half-full here but struggling to find much to like about this Iowa team.

I guess multiple freshmen are getting quality playing time!
 
Really surprised MSU is a 5.5 pt fav tonight. I know it’s at home but Wiscy appears to be playing much better than MSU at this point and Malik's status seems questionable.

I’d love to think MSU finds a way to win this game but I’m not super confident at all. Hopefully Tyson is back to full strength and we get "A" games from AJ and Akins. With the freshman class apparently taking a backseat the rest of the season according to Izzo (horrible idea IMO, especially with Fears), the starters are going to up their games considerably over this next stretch.

Based on the past couple decades I think most Badger fans just automatically pencil in a loss at Breslin.

As well as they are playing, they can always pull a wisconsin and find a way not to score for an 8 to 10 minute stretch.
 
:yucky: MSU better figure it out soon. Just as I figured, a slow start and zero energy.
It's kind of amazing that State gets these 4 stars in this year and they aren't allowed to get any real on-game experience (other than Fears) and get better. Same rotations, same no fast break points...it always seems like these kids regress rather than progress, like other teams do.
 
AJ Storr was a nice get for WI. They desperately needed someone who can create his own shot. This is a fun team to watch

What the hell is going on there??

You'd think returning the core that they did, especially the guards, would not make this possible. Haven't been paying attention, but I'm curious what the fans think.
 
Huh. Amazing what happens when you take the game inside, get a running game going and don’t rely solely on hitting 3’s the entire game.

State blows the doors off #6 Baylor.

Good start to begin righting the ship.

Glad to see X get some quality minutes and offense.

Total team effort.
 
so I have a sports package that includes the the Big 10 network, every form of ESPN and other rando sports networks so I can watch Purdue games and they put the #1 Arizona #3 Purdue game on something called Peacock that I don’t need or want? Wtf? We’re entering app overload. A shame a national audience couldn’t see that game. So dumb.

Barn burner here at the Brez at halftime. MSU 48-Stoneybrook 12. Fun game to take in with my daughter senior nursing student at MSU, before Christmas break ❤️
