Big win for this FBG in WSOP circuit series (1 Viewer)

Some of you guys say stuff as if you can hurt my feelings. :bag:  :bs: I enjoy being the bad guy to many... keeps me going. The day my haters stop posting hater comments is the day I can hear crickets, and that's not a good thing. -z-
Hurt your feelings??? What is this, Oprah?I could give a #### about your "feelings" "bad guy" - :own3d: such an LHUCKS

Quick story here regarding pivotal situation of tourney...

There were so many boring hands but a a few exciting ones. On one hand I called an all from the big stack, obviously for all my chips, about seven hours into Day 1. It was the last hand before dinner break, a time when most players don't want to risk their life in the tourney. Hand went down like this:

blinds 300-600, ten players, goes limp, fold, I limp with 55, fold fold, limp, limp, fold, small blind calls, big blind (also big stack) ponders and pops it up 2000. Call. My turn. I have about 14k. I call. Another Call. Fold. Fold. Four players see flop.

882

Huge pot at this point. I think I could be best. Not 100 percent sure. Preflop raiser bets another 2000. Way too small bet. First guy fold. That's huge. I call. Next guy folds. That's huge.

That was perfecto. I'm afraid of someone having an 8. The two guys that could've had it just folded. I'm not putting the bettor on an eight, otherwise he would check the flop and trap. (no flush draws by the way).

Fourth street comes a deuce. He pushes all in.

I think for a few minutes. I've seen him make this all in move before, against me nonetheless, with no showdown. He probably felt he could do it again to me. I look at him and tell him if he has me beat it's a great move by him. I call with my 55. He flips over A7 and my pocket fives hold up.

More stories to possibly come.... -z-

1) thanks Mr. Obvious for the bolded areas.2) great call. That's craziness to risk your life to a pre-flop raiser with that board, but it paid off.

I have no problem with him, but his posts have always had a very condescending(sp?) tone and he has come across as very arrogant to many. I can't seem to find his thread about wanting to turn poker pro, but it was hilarious...he basically acted as if nobody on this board had ever played poker before and explained the basic concepts of poker to us in his post. Whereas most people(particularly those at the small stakes he was playing at the time) would post a topic more looking for guidance and advice, he often comes across as just wanting to brag. It could just be schtick though, I dunno. Personally I'd have no problem being friendly to him if I ever met him in real life.

The problem with this dude is that he needs to draw attention to himself. Must not have a lot of friends.

Clearly a good poker player though...although I think that call with the 55 was nuts...how do you not put the pre-flop raiser on a pocket pair? Good instincts I guess.

BTW - as was pointed out earlier, it isn't "hating". People who feel the need to overstate their own accomplishments or worth obviously suffer from a lack of self-esteem. It comes off soooooooooo desperate and I think you need to reconsider your approach.

Examples - just from this thread.

1. Tourney story: "A time when most players don't want to risk their life in the tourney." Translation: I have huge balls.

2. FF comment: Yikes.

You should focus more on being satisfied and proud internally of your accomplishments...when you con other people into giving you the gratification you clearly seem to desperately need, they will resent you for it.

Next time you get the urge to do that...think of it this way:

"What would Maurile Trembley do?"

Its ok. He posted a picture where he looked bad. So, he was really not trying to show off.

If I remember correctly Z-men won the first FBG big money contest, you guys with all the negativity need to show some respect to the man who not only has mad poker skillz, but ovvned a lot of you right here on this board.

In your opinion, what % of tournament poker players net a profit? Take into account the buy-in, payout structure, taxes, endorsement deals, travel expenses, etc. Also, which percentile would you rank yourself in? I'll hang up and listen.

:goodposting: I wanted to come in and seriously congratulate him on the win, but couldn't after reading the bio.

The original post is gone, but here's my awe-inspiring parody.

Yeah. The first post was something along the lines of "So, I've decided to play poker (a card game) for a living. I'll be specializing in Texas Hold Em (a game where you are dealt two hole (face down) cards and then one is burned (discarded face down) before the flop (when three cards are turned over (cards dealt face up commong to every player)) and then another card is burned (discarded face down again) and then the turn (a single card dealt face up which is common to every player) and then another card is burned (discarded face down again) and then the river (a final (last) card dealt face up which is common to every player). Betting (wagering money) takes place pre-flop (before the first three cards are turned face up), after the flop (see previous), on the turn (see definition of turn above) and on the river (see definition of river above). The winning hand is the best five (more than four, less than six) card hand among the seven (more than six, less than eight) cards available to each player (person in the game))."

 This was good work from my GB, and gets the point across well.

If the original is gone, that's a travesty. That thread should be enshrined in the fbg hall of fame.

Any more cashes in the last month?
Three final tables at Borgata daily tourneys since the big win but it's small stuff paying less than $10k per cash.Any you guys going out to WSOP? I'll be there June 20-26 during the week of the $50k buy-in HORSE event. Not playing in that (too much $$$) but will be in three other WSOP events, all $1500 buy ins, during that week's span. Can't do main event this year as my sister decided to get married smack dab in the middle of Day 1 main event! 7/7/07So which FBGs going to be out there for this year's WSOP? -z-

Any more cashes in the last month?
Three final tables(When there is a table with only 9 players left) at Borgata (A Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey) daily tourneys (You pay an entry fee and everyone starts with the same amount of chips) since the big win (Winning a Tournament) but it's small stuff paying less than $10k ($10,000) per cash (Each time you win some money, it's considered a cash).Any you guys going out to WSOP? (This stands for World Series Of Poker) I'll be there (There meaning Las vegas, Nevada) June 20-26 during the week of the $50k buy-in (Also called an entry fee) HORSE event (This is not the animal, it's a tournament where you play 5 different types of poker games). Not playing in that (too much $$$) (I'm not that good yet) but will be in three other WSOP events (Meaning different Tournaments which are all part of the WSOP), all $1500 buy ins (Entry fees), during that week's span (From Sunday to Saturday, or 7 days). Can't do main event (This is the Tournament that has the biggest prize) this year as my sister decided to get married (Where one man and woman express their love and devotion to each other in front of a crowd of their friends and family, and a priest) smack dab in the middle of Day 1 main event! 7/7/07 (July 07, 2007)

So which FBGs (This is short for Footballguys, get it?) going to be out there for this year's (2007) WSOP? (The World Series of Poker, remember?) -z- (The last letter of the alphabet)
Fixed
