Biggest Fantasy Busts (1 Viewer)

Most of my picks. S. Greene, R. Mathews, J. Finley(IR), S. Smith(CAR), J. Stewart(cut him weeks ago), K. Kolb(cut almost immediately). Truely the worst draft I've ever had and I missed the playoffs for the first time in about 6-7 years. But there's always next year! :banned:
Yep. 18-team league, ppr...Cutler

Gore (out for playoffs)

Shonne Green :X

DJax (phi) under-performed

Austin

JFinley IR

Polish Cannon :nerd:

SD DST (crapped the bed for playoff gm1.)

sigh...
Um they had a shut out last week and pretty much shut down SF, not sure how that is a bust, week12 playoffs?
Yep. (week 13 vs Oak was our first round).

4 of my first 5 picks are disappointing, even though Calvin's overall numbers look good. He could have been so much better if Stafford stayed healthy.

1) calvin

2) fitz

3) finley (yeah, I bought the hype, esp. ppr)

5) wells

I still had the most points by over 100 and a 1st rd bye. ( foster and Nicks helped )

Larry Fitzgerald - His overall numbers don't look terrible, but he never really got it going this year. Not as much a bust as just average.
Fitz is the same player. QBs just destroyed his value.
Yes. But his season was a bust.
Andy, with respect, I disagree. Using a pretty common non-PPR scoring system from one of my leagues, Fitz averaged 11.5 fantasy points per game last year. This year, Fitz is currently averaging 8.8 fppg, just 2.7 fppg off last year's pace! Could a normal fantasy owner reasonably assume such a drop, knowing Warner was going to be replaced with Leinart? Of course. So, if you expected more, either you were willing to take the risk, or you didn't count on the risk. That's not a bust in either case. For comparison's sake, here's Randy Moss:2009: 12.6fppg; 2010: 4.8fppgNow THAT is a bust!

I don't understand how people can call Finley a bust. The guy might just be the best receiving TE in the world and is not playing

right now because he got a freak knee injury.

To me, a bust means a guy that is fully healthy and absolutely sucks while actually playing. No excuses like injury, bad team around him, etc.

Simply a guy who is supposed to put up good stastical numbers, but fails to do so for reasons only known to himself.

I.e., someone like say.....Randy Moss ......(seems healthy, has played with 3 different teams, 3 different QB's, is experience, is supposed to be amazing, etc, etc, etc, etc,)

Much in the same vein as Finley; P.Thomas (with a help from Donald Brown) almost cost me my season. At least with Finley there was some closure with the visit to the IR. Thomas is too good to toss away but 3/4 of the season waiting on this guy to return, hurt. Holding onto Brown for a couple of years in a dynasty league to have him perform like this, when he gets his shot, doesn't feel too good either.

drafted S.Greene in the second round of a two keeper league. Lucky for me I was able to drop him for Hillis in week 5.

From the FBG news blogger:

"The San Diego Chargers have spoken with FB Mike Tolbert about a long-term contract extension but have not made an offer at this point, a source told Kevin Acee, of the San Diego Union-Tribune. There is a possibility that an agreement could be reached before the end of the league year."

Sorry Mathews owners, but he is not going to be their guy in SD. If the Chargers sign Sproles to another deal or slap the tag on him again they would have a solid tandem with Tolbert and Sproles, leaving Matthews as the odd man out. The problem is they have him for 5 years $25 million now. Can someone say $25 million bust?

Schaub had some big weeks, didnt live up to last year, but not a bust. Week 2 - 46 points, week 4 - 21 points, week 6 - 31 points, week 10 - 32 points, week 11 - 21 points, week 12 - 21, week 13 - 27, week 14 - 38 points. Currently #8 QB overall in my league ahead of Flacco, Ryan. Eli, Big Ben, Palmer, Mcnabb. He's been hot down the stretch.

Randy Moss is easily the clear cut guy as bust of the year. What's more is he might be the worst first round pick in recent memory if not ever. What sets him apart is he did not bust due to health so starting him each week was an option. Than you factor in the team switches and QB changes for the Titans and it seduced a lot of Moss owners into starting him thinking the team or QB change would be the elixir to fix him. So the poor play combined with so many Moss owners actually putting him in your lineup makes him the biggest bust I can ever recall. If had broke his leg in the opener all Moss owners would have been better off.

I cant tell if you are being serious or not, but if you are, do you really think they are going to give up on Mathew after one injury plagued season?

Mathews is soft

Alot of RB's get hurt, that doesnt make them soft. Obviousy RB is a tough postion, and its important to have a solid backup, thats why the Chargers will resign Tolbert. I have little doubt that Mathews will go into next season as the starter if he is healthy.

Ray Rice has been fairly putrid for a guy who was top five going in.
X

Are you denying that Rice has been bad this season?

I wouldnt call him the biggest bust, but he hasnt done anything to warrant a top 5 pick, or a pick in the first 3 rounds.
Since week 5 in PPR he is the #5 overall RB in FF...Only McCoy, Hillis, McFadden, and Foster are higher on a per game basis. :wall:

Edit to add...PPR

I'll add my bust of the year.

For me, there hasn't been a bigger bust in all of fantasy land than Chris Wells. Apparently he's made of glass, or girl parts....because he can't get/stay on the field. When he's not getting outplayed by Hightower, he's leaving the game with a "stomach illness" in the 2nd quarter. Must've been menstrual cramps.
lol, nice

He is #14 in my PPR, and #16 in my non-ppr. More importantly, he is 45 points higher than the 30th ranked RB and 115 points behind the #1 RB(PPR). Not exactly what i want from my top 5 pick.

Simply not true from what I posted. Look at what he is doing...MFL

I was talking about the whole season, my leagues all start week 1. Either way, i spent a first round pick on him in 3 of my 4 local redrafts, and until today, he has been a disappointment. I will forgive him fully if he has another good game next week however.

D'Angelo Williams is the easy pick for me. FBG had his as the #12 pick in my main league scoring. Even when healthy, he was abyssmal. I was happy to get him in the second. What a waste of a pick!
