i would trade him, Stallworth, and a second round pick for Boldin.Didn't we already go the superstar, selfish, scream-at-your-coaches, me, me, me-route? I'd much rather make a run at TJ Housh or someone else. Braylon Edwards even.4x champ said:What can we offer from the Eagles roster? Picks? We have two first rounders.
Yes. Unless you go by JuniorNB's account where Boldin pulls out a knife and hold's it up to the neck of Haley's first born child.Searched YouTube and the only version they had was blurry and only eight seconds long. Was this confrontation only eight or so seconds?
You can't see Boldin's mouth, but Haley clearly says "Don't tell me that", #93 holds Boldin back, and Haley says, "Go ahead!, Go ahead!"CXlear as day. Watch NFL Network or Sportscenter. I've seen it a dozen times. And no, I don't pretend to know what Boldin is saying, but there are only a few things I can imagine that would illicet a response by Haley that is "Go ahead!".That's all I'm saying. Also, I didn't compare him to T.O. He may be nothing like him. How would we know? Owens played a few years before all that surfaced.Yes. I think it's now 50/50 that he's gone.So what are the odds that Boldin is still a Cardinal next year? I think he has 2 years left on his deal and there is no guarantee he gets traded.
That was more tongue in cheek, but I do think you are overblowing the situation and think it was disingenous of you to "invent" facts like he wanted to deck him? Even if he did indeed yell a threat, the fact that he never went after him and 93 "held him back" in a manner that Boldin could have easily broke away if that was his true intent shows that Boldin was just a little pissed and expressed that as a competitor. It was not as egrecious as you would like people to believe. Was it worng, yes. I'm sure Bolding would say so as well.I admit Warner's "yelling" wasn't quite as intense, but nevertheless it was in the same vein. Two professionals acting a little unprofessional in the heat of battle. Boldin has played 6 years and everyone has bad days. To act like he has TO potential is kind of silly. You can't see Boldin's mouth, but Haley clearly says "Don't tell me that", #93 holds Boldin back, and Haley says, "Go ahead!, Go ahead!"CXlear as day. he could start for lots of teams. boldin is hurt, its not like the coach pulled him because he thinks breaston is better than him. If the coach is watching boldin running around at 70% and not getting open and thinks breaston is a better option he can absolutely sit boldin down.Wu-banger said:This stuff happens all the time....
People should not crucify Boldin for this incident when he has had a admiral career as a stand up player.
There is no situation , besides Special Teams , that Breaston is better than Boldin..a little fater maybe but thats it.
Breaston has improved this year but is not a starting caliber WR in the NFL.
I want players on my team that are pissed when they are pulled from the game... especially for a lesser player... he wants to be out there competing to win...if he told the OC he was healthy than the OC should trust him... hell , the guy played with a broken face half the year.
The Coach should have shown more restraint as to arguing with the player .... difussing the situation , not proloning it.
not IMO ..... Im a Michigan fan and followed Breaston ... spot-starter , 3rd WR , slot guy is his ceiling in the NFL.he could start for lots of teams. boldin is hurt, its not like the coach pulled him because he thinks breaston is better than him. Yeah, Lomardi's take wasn't that Breaston replaced Boldin, but that the cards went to more 2 back, 2 te, 1 wr packages, which left Boldin the odd man out.mistersmith said:does anyone else listen to bill simmons sports guy podcast? he had mike lombardi on, and he had some interesting things to say.supposedly boldin was out because haley changed his personnel packages to employ more of a blocking scheme. (more te's, blockers to protect warner.).lombardi said todd haley actually called a great game. at first the eagles were overloading one side at the beginning of the game. it obviously wasn't working. then the eagles adjusted and they started balancing their pressure evenly throughout the line, which is why the cardinals started going 3 and out.then haley adjusted his personnel to deal with this balanced pressure, and that's when boldin started yelling at haley.basically both coordinators (haley and jim johnson)were adjusting their schemes with personnel packages back and forth throughout the entire game.if anyone else listened to it, feel free to correct me...this is all from memory and its a bit late over here.(i've read breaston was in for boldin...but maybe breaston is a better blocker than a dinged up boldin?) ah well, just thought i'd pass it on.
Do you think I should save money some money by switching my insurance to GEICO after the game? Bottom line is, whatever he said to Haley that made him reply "Go ahead!, Go ahead!" was either a physical threat or an act of defiance, like walking off the sideline. I'm not pretending to know which it was, but other than the funny things other suggested (The Geiko one was a personal fave), there's not much else it could have been.Do you think I should save money some money by switching my insurance to GEICO after the game? I find it quite comical that people are calling out Boldin for having a character issue and only a month ago Fitzgerald was being charged by the mother of his child for physically grabbing her by the hair and throwing her to the ground.Your joking right? What Boldin did was in the middle of the game. Fitzgerald did it in his own house where no one was around. Fitzgerald throw the mother of his child against a padded wall with one hand. Not even close to Boldin yelling at a grow man his coach at that. I was scared that Boldin was going to really get mad and start cursing, you can see Warner in the background saying I hope these guys don't start cursing. So please don't compare the two, Fitzgerald is a real nice guy.Whats funny is everyone in here calling out Boldin and his character as being some sort of an issue when all he did was get upset in the heat of the moment during a GAME of football. Hell I get mad at buddies during games all the time if they are playing like #### even though we are well past our prime and its supposed to be for fun. And I would expect to hear an ear frull from them if I was playing like #### as well. Now I understand it was a coach, but it happens sometimes and competitive people get upset sometimes in the heat of the moment and as long as it does not become something that takes place over and over and turns into a TO situation (which it won't) then this is a non story.I find it quite comical that people are calling out Boldin for having a character issue and only a month ago Fitzgerald was being charged by the mother of his child for physically grabbing her by the hair and throwing her to the ground.Which one is worst? A guy being super competitive and being upset at a coach or Fitz grabbing his babies momma and throwing her to the ground? I think 99% of the NFL teams would want to have Boldin on their side.
Breaston may be the Card's #3, but he'd be the best receiver on my Raiders.he could start for lots of teams. boldin is hurt, its not like the coach pulled him because he thinks breaston is better than him. Are these the same sources that told Mort that Shanahan was ready to sign with KC?Edit to add: As a Giants and Boldin fan, I would be absolutely thrilled if the Giants traded their 1st for Boldin, assuming a contract extension.Anquan Boldin-WR-Cardinals Jan. 25 - 11:43 am et
ESPN's Chris Mortensen believes that the Cardinals will listen to trade offers for Anquan Boldin this offseason.
Boldin would be the hottest name on the trade market and could probably bring back a first-round pick. Mortensen points out that Arizona is stocked up on receivers and can afford to trade Boldin if a "reasonable offer" comes along. The Cards could go with Steve Breaston opposite Larry Fitzgerald next season, with Early Doucet and Jerheme Urban battling for third receiver duty.

I don't know about that, but it's obvious Boldin is on his way out of Arizona. The scars run too deep. He felt as if he should have gotten more coin, and never got over the contract Fitz received while not getting paid himself.

Cardinals have no intention of trading Anquan Boldin
Anquan Boldin has two more years left on his contract, and the Cardinals have no intention of trading him or even testing the market for him. "We've often talked about building this team under a core philosophy," Cardinals general manager Rod Graves said. "How could you have a core and not include Anquan Boldin?" Graves wouldn't go so far as to say the Cardinals would not listen to trade offers for Boldin or any player. But to give up Boldin, a suitor would have to come calling with "a very rich proposition." -- Chicago Tribune
