Bowe vs Meachem vs Rice (1 Viewer)

I am curious where people are ranking these rookie WRs now that they are all signed and we've started getting some feedback from camps.

Meachem has the best offense and QB by far, but also the stiffest competition. His toughness is already a concern.

Bowe is finally signed, has far less competition to earn a starting spot, but definite questions about the QB play...

Rice, like Bowe, has an unproven QB, but very little competition.

Where do you sharks rank these guys for this year and beyond at this point?

I like Gonzalez over all of them.If you are drafting for talent, most would think that Bowe and Rice are the guys to get, but I hate everything about their situations. Long term, they will be WR1 on run-first teams - I think their upside will be limited until their coach either changes philosophy or they change teams. Short term, their production for 2007 will be minuscule at best - barely worth rostering. If you really want one of these guys in dynasty, trade for him next year or the year later when their value is at a minimum.Meachum is in a good situation, obviously. But, the core players around him who will be limiting his touches (Bush, Colston) are both young and neither will be going anywhere soon. Long term, Meachum can be WR1 or WR2 for this team, which is a good place to be. Near term, he has the same upside.Gonzalez is in a better situation, IMO. He has two stud WR's ahead of him, but this offense is capable of three 1k yard receivers (see 2004 Colts). Near term, I could see Gonzo putting up respectable #'s (60-70 catches, 800 yards), long term Gonzo could be the Harrison replacement.
