Brady Quinn is greedy (1 Viewer)

I'm a lifelong ND fan, but have to shake my head at this.About the only thing as bad as this in my mind is the fact that people are willing to pay money for anyone's autograph in the first place.
This says it all and no one has been able to answer this.
Not sure what you're saying. If you're questioning why fans would pay for an autograph then you have to wonder why it has come that point. If you want an autograph that's pretty much how you'll get one these days.If you're questioning Brady then I really don't understand. He's not the one charging for the autographs. As was explained already, he's paid an appearance fee and that group charges the customers whatever they feel the market will bear. It's a common practice that pro athletes are paid for these appearances. It's a way for them to make money on their name. Similar to what all pro entertainers do.

Quinn's eBay stock is soaring on the press of this...8X10 w/ COA for $14.95. I think the show was charging, what...$150+ for one of these:

Any autograph signing at a mall is gonna be a pay for autograph deal. Quinn probably got a call from his agent that said hey I got you $20,000 dollars to sign autographs for a couple of hours. He hasn't signed a deal yet and 20k would be some great pocket money so he says sure. Now the mall or another 3rd party, sets a price for what they want to sell and what they want to charge. Quinn signed the deal, so even if he doesn't like the deal he gets his ### sued, if he walks away. I don't really fault him for that, but he better sign his contract and get camp or my attitude may change.
This is how the autograph signings work. Brady has nothing to do with what is charged.
Sure he could... He could ask them "Are you going to charge for my autograph? Yes? Then, no thanks."That's what a greatful pro-athlete would do. Or, insist all money went to charity, etc.

So you're in the camp of athletes shouldn't make money? They should work for free? How much of your work earnings are you donating? No way for us to know but I'd be willing to bet he's put more time and effort into charity so far than most, if not all that are criticizing him.Seriously, he's not been paid a dime and this an opportunity for him to put some money on his plate and you want to criticize him. Good for you.

Brady is not a pro athlete yet.

There are mixed (and strong) feelings on this issue. I think the main problem I have is...from what I understand, Quinn would ONLY sign items paid for at the show and not items brought by fans from home. So, if I just paid $200+ for my new Quinn authentic and brought it to get his sig on it, no dice. :fishing:
What I heard was that he was expecting to sign his number 10 jersey, but got annoyed that fans kept bringing in clipboards for him to sign.
How is this post not getting any love?

I think you're paying as much to meet him as you are for the autograph. By the way, $75 is pretty standard these days for top draft picks.
