The right decision...could have squeaked out another year but why...no need to be one of the great ones who have that last year where it looks awful and looking at potential landing spots in 2023 there was nothing that made sense...a lot of the chatter up here was he was looking to make a move from Tampa after 2021 but that did not materialize for a few reasons...it truly is amazing he played at a high-level till he was 45...I don't think people realize how insane that is...when he first started saying that it seemed ridiculous but as usual TB12 proved the doubters wrong...I wish he had retired a Patriot but the fact he went to Tampa and won one only enhances the legacy...he is the GOAT.
I remember when George Blanda was forced into duty as a QB at age 43 in the first ever AFC Championship game in 1970 between the Raiders and Colts after Daryle Lamonica went down. Bubba Smith laid the wood to him on a sack and during an interview years later said he couldn't take that kind of punishment at that age.
Yes, players play longer at a higher level than they used to, probably due to better conditioning and diet, but what Brady did was amazing at 45. I can tell you with 100% certainty that no other QB has looked like that after 40 and 90% of them didn't look like that in their late 30s.
