Bragging, venting, crowing, grieving. (1 Viewer)

Screw you guys at least you didn't lose your #1 (Romo) and #2 (Cutler) quarterbacks on the same day. And the only quarterbacks out there on the free agents are actually Weeden or Clausen

I think the football gods are trying to tell me something. I benched Brady is Week 1 in favor of Romo and Dez gets hurt (the WR part of my DAL stack). I still don't learn my lesson and play Romo again over Brady in Week 2 so the gods decide to hurt Romo. Lesson learned the hard way...never trust in Dallas and I'm starting Brady in Week 3! Count me lucky that I drafted Brady two rounds after Romo and his suspension was overturned.

I just want to say that yesterday was a total debacle. I am at a loss for words and yesterday was one of them days that could make you forget fantasy football forever. I want to say that in my 20 years of playing fantasy football, I have never felt so helpless, defeated, disheartened, pissed off and angry all at the same time as I did yesterday . I went all in with 60. Here was my line up

Brees, E.Lacy, J. Hill K. ALlen, K. Wright, D. Sproles Flex witten, TENN D and Crosby. Of course I have Alshon hurt and put in sproles for AROB. I would............ :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall:

Lacy, Hill, K. allen combine for 1 point. My first three picks accounted for 0 points in week 2. Lacy 0 Jeffery 0 Hill 0....................... DONUTS FOR EVERYONE!!!! Im so flipping mad right now.

Brag: Love my combo of Brady and Antonio Brown after two weeks.

Vent: Had 3 entries in a survivor pool in week 2. Considering how hapless Jax, Tampa and Oakland looked last week, I figured at least one of their opponents would win and I'd stay alive. Nope. Even Grantland chimed in with "...with the Bucs, Raiders, and Jags ruining survivor pools nationwide."

I should still win tonight (down 6pts, have Luck going against nobody...so, knock on wood, barring injury I should be OK), despite getting 1pt from Abdullah, 1pt from Allen, 2pts from Graham, and 0pts from the Dolphins DST. Had the following on my bench: Boldin (18), Stevie Johnson (15), L. Green (9), Allen Robinson (36)...also Tyrod Taylor (27.6). Thank God for DeAngelo, Crosby, Woodhead, and the fact that his starters also sucked.

My opponent's lineup:

Luck, Cooks, K. Allen, Harvin, R. Jennings, CJ Anderson, Kelce, M. Bryant, Ravens D.

Just brutal. Luck may be doomed tonight. Or outscore the entire rest of his team. My Antonio Brown did.

WTF is Ivory not in at all on the last drive? I am tied and going to lose on bench points since Ivory hasn't had a carry in forever. 3 yards to a win, of course because Vinatieri can't hit a 29 yarder. Maybe Luck will throw one more INT. You'd figure Ivory would be the go to guy up 10, but nope Powell is their guy. I hate FF sometimes. Lose on a tie where the opponents K/D combo outscores mine 37-5.

Brag: Drafted Matt Jones, David Johnson and James Jones with my last 3 picks. Picked up Dion Lewis and Montcrief from free agency last week

Vent: All of them sitting on my bench (throw Brandon Marshall in as well). Luck + Ravens D + Dan Carpenter = 4 pts. Lost by 8 pts.

Went into tonight up by two facing Vinatieri. Figured I was done, especially when the colts lined up for a field goal early in the game inside the 30. What a night, lucky week.

Timeline:

Choose to start Evans over Crowell/decker

Winston steals a 1 yard TD run from Martin.

Julio makes a diving catch for a TD, call reversed. Short 1/2 yard.

Jordan Cameron exits game in 2nd q.

Andrew luck goes insane.

Eric decker injuries knee.

Lost by 4 - he had montcrief

Score this week: 90.14 points, 2nd worst in the entire league.

6-Man bench score this week: 114.3. Would've been the top scoring team by themselves. Newton, Bernard, Yeldon, Moncrief, M.Jones, Freeman.

Lost by 0.36 points.

Played highest scoring team this week. Tom Brady was his QB.

Scored second highest points this week. Leveon Bell is my #1 RB.

Essentially I lost because Brady cried and whined and moaned until a judge threw out his suspension, and Bell just rolled over and took his (minus 1 game).

I hate Tom Brady. Now I really really hate Tom Brady.

I lost this week 173.12 - 173.84. :wall:

Keys to my loss were Lacy going out and starting Mike Evans(he will be riding the pine till i see something) over Woodhead in my flex. I actually asked who to start in the Assistant Coach forum and the majority of responses backed Evans over Woodhead. I was up until Luck threw those last three passes during garbage time at the end of the game. I needed the Jets to run out the clock. Jets kick a field goal. Had my fingers crossed that they wouldn't put in Luck since there was no way they could win. In comes Luck to put the nail in the coffin lol.

The Mike Evans move was a rookie mistake. Also had Latavius Murray, James Jones and Joseph Randle on my bench. Any of which would have given me the win. Just got too excited he was going to play lol.

The best part is the guy that beat me has DeAngelo Williams and I have Le'Veon Bell. He got the win because of my DW but those points will be mine next week

I feel ya, lsufan. Lost by < 5 points with Evans, Romo, Jeremy Hill, Lamar Miller and Davante Adams in the lineup (over Tannehill, James Jones, and Moncrief :wall: ). RBs couldn't be helped (have Le'Veon), but I shat the bed with my WR choices.

I'm 0-2 in that league with losses by a combined 5.04 points

2-0 with high score both weeks. Driven by Brady, Julio, Hyde, Eifert (and Justin Tucker). If the Houston D starts producing like it's capable of and McCoy and Maclin ever kick it into the next gear... :excited:

Got a "win" today due to a stat correction from the Thurs game. Evidently Maclin was "sacked" so I got +1 from the Denver DST. Bizarre.

Looking like the Giants have combined 3 running backs into one pile of pure #### of fantasy non relevance.

Unfortunately on 2 squads I have Vereen and Jennings both, thinking "in the event of an injury catastrophe to my other backs, I will have some semblance of production, or bye week help".

Looks like they are just hogging up bench spots at this point.

And don't get me started on the Alfred Morris situation.......

I actually feel bad for that guy. He has been a great, dependable company type guy. Ran well, represented the team well, and by all accounts was dependable and mostly injury free.

Now it looks like the Redskins are doing their damnedest to make this a carbon copy of the Giants committee. :X

I hate to predict it, but the running back situation this year has largely been a truly ugly scenario through the first couple weeks.

I'm guessing we have an injury to 1 or 2 of the "big names" this week to make it overall even worse.

I'm not #####ing really, but it just seems like the running backs this year have been a total waste so far, barring 1-2 exceptions.......... and even then its been "one good or great week" followed by an uninspiring mess the next, or vice versa.

Sankey.... decent week 1 then garbage the next.

Hill, decent week 1, then garbage the next.

Charles has a decent night, then oddly fumbles two times to put a stench over that performance.

CJ Anderson, umm, I don't think we need to even go there.

I know it happens every year, we always seem to hit this stretch of a few games where there are really ugly scenarios at RB.

Normally it tends to happen mid-season when a few of the backs wear down a bit, or thats what I remember.

This year, it seems to have happened right out of the gates...............is it just me?

It is not just you. Due to computer problems I missed the first three rounds of an old school style (read: no ppr) league and I was given Peterson, Forsett and McCoy (I did not prerank). My team is 0-2 mainly because those three haven't met expectations yet.

I think he's a great spot start guy. If you don't double Beckham he's going to burn you. Leaves weak coverage on Randle. Don't think he's better than most #1s but he can compete with the #2s.

I've got good feelings about Darren Sproles becoming productive here. Lots of garbage time, Sam Bradford is a chump. Sanchez needs to be starting. Much more big play potential.

Are we now starting chest-pounding threads the day after a player does something? Mondays should be fun.

Guys just a heads up about this Odell Beckham Jr. guy. I know he has missed the first 3 games of the year, but you are going to want to pick him up in redraft and trade pretty much anything you can to get him in dynasty. This kid is going to win your fantasy leagues this year and in 2015 he will be one of the top 4 or 5 receivers off the board. Trust me and thank me later.

Guy in my league dropped Matt Jones for him last week. Then proceeded to drop 60% of FAAB to reacquire Jones and drop Randle this week.

I know, cool story.

Too many shares of Brandin Cooks for me this year. I really allowed myself to believe he'd be targeted, silly me. Now Brees is pretty much cooked for the year (highly doubt he'll be more than a mere shadow of his former self once he comes back in a few games...yes, I doubt he misses only 1 or 2).

Assuming you're not in a deep league and this is PPR, your WR core is in trouble if you're already relying on Rueben freakin Randle in week 3.
Opposite of in trouble. I just got insane value out of my flex. I can pick another waiver gem next week.

How am I in trouble? I just got insane value out of my flex. I can pick another waiver gem next week.
What he means is if you are fishing for waiver gems Week 2 to fill out your lineup you are not as smart as you think you are.

Success in fantasy isn't always about finding studs. Sometimes the ability to timely start fringe talent can lead you to a championship.

It is with Antonio Gates, Todd Gurley, Arian Foster, and Antonio Gates on my bench. :) Buying time before I release the kraken.

Even the blind squirrel finds the nut once a year, Randle found his nut for the year

But your logic with regard to this thread is flawed. In the OP, you say that he's going to be able to take advantage of #2s because of OBJ's presence. You are basically saying he's a viable option each week when he had one fluke play where he didn't even make a catch initially account for most of his production.

Week 3 will you be using the same sharky analysis to chase points?

This guy Cooks was one of my highest "try and acquire" guys in the preseason.

Him and John Brown.

As a fluke, and the way I drafted, I could not get Cooks anywhere, and on the other hand I got Brown everywhere .

I am still a believer in Cooks, but his scenario is pretty bad now.

Poor QB play will likely be the norm, at least for a few weeks.......and in the first couple of weeks Cooks wasn't able to get much going.

I think there is a very good chance that this is the end for Brees. I guess he will eventually find his way back and be "acceptable", but the days of him blowing up likely done.

If I were an owner, I would be trying to get as much as 60 cents on the dollar for Cooks currently.

I would be trying to get Moncrief, or take the chance on a number of waiver wire shots at this point.

I just don't see him being any more than a WR3, at least for the time being.

It depends who is on waivers but with Cruz back there might not be enough targets to go around. I'll probably grab Kenny Britt, Darren Sproles, Pierre Garcon, Ty Montgomery, Marvin Jones type player for next week if nobody steps up off my bench.I like Ginn and Heyward-bey to randomly pull down a TD against the right team.
Yuck.

I prefer to fill out my roster with high-upside & youth, not mediocre JAGs that I can chase points with.

I do like Ty Montgomery though.

I don't care who I have to start as long as I get points. See: Deangelo Williams.

I started DWill first two games as well. But rental 3 down back are a very rare commodity.

There are probably 30-40 WRs you can plug in for inconsistent points. While you roster burn for veterans with no upside I'll hold onto guys who can win games for me down the road.
