Bragging, venting, crowing, grieving... (3 Viewers)

think I'll always play, but the way I play has definitely changed:

I don't even look at my opponent's lineup until the games are over. That way I can just watch a game and not look for a jersey number after a big catch. I can just, you know, appreciate the catch. If the guy torches me I'll find out eventually. I want to just enjoy the games.
I just started doing this and it does help. I look at my players since that is the only lineup that I can control.

Another thing I started doing is avoiding my home team players. This way I can enjoy a TD no matter who scores it for them. And since I draft with a couple homers I wouldn't be getting them at fair value anyways, thus helping my team in the long run.

I've found that not having players from my favorite team is a nice hedge. If they do well, I get to be a fan. If they perform poorly, my fantasy team is unscathed. If I'm rooting for them anyway, I don't need more eggs in that basket unless I'm getting real value. And you never get real value drafting hometown players.

I had the highest week 1 score in the 41 year history of our league. A lineup of just my backups would still be in first place. I couldn't ask for a better start.

i wasnt on top of the CMC inactive, so my opponent scooped up mason before i could... then he proceeded to post a laughing meme on the league site.... luckily i had cmc in my flex so i was able to grab and start allan lazard... he ended up having 4 more points than mason.

MFL and/or Rams taking their sweet time updating Puka's official designation from "Out" to "IR". Makes a difference in some (i.e., MY) leagues for using an IR spot.

Another week, another TNF game that haunts me. Last week, Jackson and Saquon wrecked my week before it started. Last night, Achane hangs 30 on me and Waddle craps the bed. Sigh. What scheduling (bad)luck.

In a league that has no IR slots. The "logic" is that it makes decisions harder and I guess it does but I think it's a bit unfair to teams that get hit hard by injuries.

People would hate Siciliano too.

People would hate Al Michaels and Keith Jackson's love child even if it was possessed by the love child of Dandy Don Merideth & Howard Cosell's ghost.
Yeah I like Hanson way more than Siciliano. The perfect would be mixing them in together so it's not so monotone all day.

My season is pretty much boned on three teams two weeks in due to injuries.

Thinking its just about time to set lineups for the remaining 15 weeks, logout of those apps, and have a nice single malt.

The injuries are astonishing. 30 years playing and have never seen the number of injuries to skill players like this. Survived this week but had key players out. Its more than holding your breath in games. Now its players getting hurt in practices or getting transparency on Friday that a key player hits the injury report

NCAA tournament March Madness picks used to be one of my favorite things as a kid, and even into my 20s. Now, I could care less about filling out a bracket or the tournament as a whole.

Fantasy football and the NFL is moving in that direction for me. I will probably never pull the plug, because it's how I stay in touch with old friends, but man, sitting down to watch a primetime game because I had a player or was going up against a player used to be fun. Now, I'm almost always disappointed in how things go from a fantasy perspective, and almost always underwhelmed with the entertainment value of the game.

I don't think the additional game or playoff spot is anywhere close to the sole reason, but I also don't think it has been helpful to the urgency and preparation for regular season contests. This has always been what separates the NFL from the other pro sports. Adding to the schedule when injuries are becoming this numerous is nuts. Also, beyond pathetic that the competition committee was unable to anticipate the number of teams that would be content to simply give the opposing offense the ball on the 30. The return of kickoff returns, in some form, was the one thing I was kind of looking forward to from a gameplay perspective this season.

From the "Glad it's not Me" File, a guy in a league I'm in traded for the Kupp and Pacheko combo on Saturday. To make matters worse, he also received CMC from the same trading partner just prior to week 1.

How big do you consider big?
My auction league has 11 starters and 9 bench spots. My main redraft league has 11 starters and 8 bench spots. I consider those large enough.
it's a 14 team dynasty with 8 bench slots. Not really complainging per se (or maybe I am, a little...idk) I just feel like between injuries and your rookies that may not have an immediate role it just seems a little odd to me.

WOW ! is his trading partner a "jumper" ? reject any trade offers from him immediately

Started Goedurt last two weeks in multiple leagues, benched him today of course after he did nothing last week with AJ Brown out.

Going to lose this week because of @@@@@@@ Prescott's BS stat padding 4th qtr & the horrible Dallas defense not being able to tackle Henry. Oh, & screw Justin Tucker for forgetting how to kick. Just more reasons to hate both of these teams

A Jones, Kyren, and Goedert all on my bench in the same league. Fortunately my opponent benched J Jennings, but I still need McLaurin to have a quiet night

Lost by a half a freaking point.
Started Shaheed with a big fat donut.
Six other players on the bench who could have each gotten me the win.

Two weeks in a row the fantasy gods have been with me. Last week I just needed three more points from Cousins. If Barkley catches that screen pass game over and I lose.

This week. I was up by 47 points going against Josh Allen last night. He scored 46.3 before being taken out of the game. :lmao:

I hate my team, my six first picks are either on IR or on the top of the 2024 bust list. CMC, Pacheco, Kupp, Mahomes, Pitts, Aiyuk. And to pile on I played the highest-scoring team in the league for three of the first four weeks.

Going to be 1-3. The only thing making me still believe is last year a guy started 1-5, finished 7-7 and was last spot in the playoffs. He won it all. Still not over yet but I have never started this bad in FF and have played 10+ years. Oof.

Just super mad at myself.

This is from 32 redraft/dynasty leagues:

Swift on bench in 6 out of 7 leagues.

Josh Downs on bench in 11 out of 12 leagues.

Wick on bench in all 9 leagues

Meanwhile:

Rome Odunze in the lineup in 7 out of 8 leagues.

Rice injury just took the wind completely out of my sails yesterday.

But then Henry revived me. Went from certain loss to having a shot tonight down only 9.

Dynasty team has won 26 of last 30 games, 3-0 so far. But way behind tonight. Need 55.1 out of Metcalf and Gibbs. PPR and 5 point bonus at 150 yds rushing or receiving.

Metcalf 9 rec, 163 yds and a TD = 36.3

Gibbs 96 yds and a TD, 7 rec, 81 yds = 30.7

Total = 67.0, that gives some margin, those are your goals, boys!

16 team league I went into the season with Tua and Richardson at QB. WW is generally barren but I was able to snag Levi’s last week. I have ZERO QB prospects at this point but will try to get Flacco off the wire this week
