Bragging, venting, crowing, grieving... (1 Viewer)

Even after little and lamb blew up for me last night, I ended up .7 points short of a win. Even worse is that I meant to take Pittman out but somehow overlooked it when doing my final check. And I was going against lamb in another league which will probably defeat me, so the worst of all worlds.

Why do bad things happen to good people? And also, why do they happen to me?

Started out 0-3 and am now 5-3. Have gone from 2nd-to-last in points-for to 5th-best (only 50 behind the leader now). Still have the 3rd-most against.

I'm waiting for the 3rd shoe to drop

I just lost because ESPN is charging the Chargers D with 2 points against from the safety. If NO had recovered the ball and scored a DTD, it wouldn’t count. The whole scoring setup is such that an opponent’s DTDs and STTDs don’t count against the defense’s points against.

I don’t get the arbitrary change. Until the punter kicks the ball, it’s still on offense. The punter can run or pass and get offensive stats. So, if NO recovered the fumble (cause by bad snap) or if the NO returner scores (if punter did kick), no points against the Chargers, but the fumble turning into a safety counts? The Chargers D was never on the field and NO never got possession so I don’t get it.

Winning by .24 points was crazy but getting screwed and losing by 0.76 really sucks since 8 PA is 1 point less than 6 PA.

I lost in two leagues starting Caleb. Over Baker as I had no idea he would continue to ball after losing Godwin and Evans. Over Herbert in another.

Oof. Lesson learned?

Traded for Lamb last week. Going into SNF I was down 17, had Lamb and they had Nabers on MNF. Looked bleaked. Lamb went off and Steelers contained Nabers for me to win by 10. What luck.

One of my teams had a mediocre week but will win easily because my opponent started three people with goose eggs (Diontae Johnson, Wicks, Tipton) and the Denver defense which got -3.

Had Nacua, LaPorta and Pittman in my lineup, and still won. Scores across the board were low this week. I'm sure a lot of players are tired, many are hurt, some left games early, one almost got decapitated, thanks to his QB. I cant get a flow week to week of my lineup. I'm playing guys who get 5 pts, benching those who get 20. And taking waaaaay to many goose eggs. Frustrating.

I am probably going to be 12-6 (this league has 2 opponents every week), but man, my WRs are decimated (I have to start 2 and have 2 flexes)

My top 6 WR going into this year

Lamb - Shoulder (likely out 1-2 weeks)
Wilson - healthy
Godwin - out for the year
Higgins - has missed 4 games already with soft tissue injuries
Di Johnson - value just went into the toilet going to BAL
Shaheen - out for the year

Going to be an interesting few weeks for me.

In a 10 team league I'm in I'm going to be 2nd in points by a solid margin, but somehow I'm in 9th place.

Dynasty rant: It’s frustrating when players I identify as good stashes break out for other managers once I decide I’ve given up on them. In fact you can build a pretty awesome lineup just from stashes I gave up on too soon for whatever reason:

QB Jordan Love
WR Nico Collins
WR Cedric Tillman
RB Kyren Williams
RB Jordan Mason
TE Travis Kelce*
Flex Chuba Hubbard

*dropped him his rookie season while he was on IR

That team would probably outscore the one I have now on most weeks. Tillman is the latest frustration for me. I saw the breakout and decided I didn’t want to trust any more Browns after getting burnt by Njoku (prior to 2022 breakout) and Ford (never broke out). I’m not good at this.

Holy crap. I was down by 5.8 with 2 mins left in the MNF game. Went into tonight down 7.5, opp had TB kicker I had Hunt.

TB sending it into over time...KC gets the ball..hunt gets the GW TD and I win. Utter shock.

Have an ok lead getting much smaller…because Jared Goff decides to throw 3 ints tonight (opponent playing the Texans D)

I damn near lost benching Murray for Tua this week. I won by 1.28 pts when it should have been an easy victory. Better lucky than good.

Dynasty team in Full-on Lose Now mode.

Going into this year, I would’ve bet that a lineup of Stroud, JTaylor, Lamb, Olave, Reed, Bowers, Kirk, Meyers and Javonte would’ve gotten me into the top 6 for a playoff spot.

Here I sit at 2-8 and hoping to lose out. I’m not unhappy about Stroud underperforming this year, or Lamb’s late week injury designation or Olave going to IR. Happy to keep losing.

I have a bench full of could-be-something-someday rookies RBs in Estime, Corum, Ray Davis, Lloyd and Vidal.

Just venting at the only league out of 8 that I’m below .500 with a team I thought was finally ready to compete b

Trust your gut, screw all these stupid rankings. I had Tua in but changed out for Russ. Cost me the week. Not to mention I had Tucker in instead of Boswell. I knew Tua would light up the horrible raiders, but no I don't listen t myself. Even someone in these forums asked why I would even consider Tua.

Benched Daniels for Herbert…opponent has McClaurin…I have Sierbert. That last bit of the game is just a microcosm of my fantasy season in one league. Guaranteed now I lose by the difference in where McClaurin was ans where he finished (or by the 2 missed XPs)

Loved Barkley in my own lineup, but now I need a big (20+) night from King Henry in a league where I went up against him.

Lost by .3 thanks to the last 5 yard slant to McConkey. Was dead even going into last night. He had McConkey and I had Henry. Really need Henry to get into the end zone.

Dynasty team with Hurts, Barkley, Lamb, Moore, Achane, Kyren, Kelce and Goedert. About to be 7-6 with at least 4 losses by 6 points or less. The late Thielen fireworks doomed me this week unless Cook fumbles his way to the bench.

Took CMC and then Nakua. Started 2-4. Somehow clawed way to 6-6.

Have never had CMC before. For the little while he was going off last night, I was “so this is what it feels like to have him!”

I felt joy. I felt like one of the characters in the movie “Awakenings” after being given the miracle drug to bring them back from schizophrenia.

Only for it to wear off and the grim reality setting in that this team I drafted is cursed and the fantasy gods mock me…

Eliminated from playoffs with loss. Down 0.08 pts. Tampa down 3 with 30 seconds. Out of bounds kick off. Baker makes a few plays. McLaughlin makes clutch fg for his team and for me. Life is good.

I was 7-5 going into this week in 2nd place out of 10. I lost this week and there will be mutiple 7-6 teams with better points for stat than me. There is a solid chance I miss the playoffs if I don't win next week. Sheesh.

First place and sailing this week. He has Winston, Jeudy, and Barton to go but I have 100+ point cushion.

All was well until that final pick to Barton put him over the top. Slide to 3rd and now possibly lose my bye thanks to that sequence and players involved.

i now have 300 more total points than the next team in the league - averaging 140pts per week in half ppr and I am now in 3 rd place. Went into last night with a 36 point lead over a nobody team and Jeudy beat me
