Brand Spanking new ***OFFICIAL*** Ohio State Buckeyes thread! (3 Viewers)

Defense looks insane,  DB play seems so much better overall.  Love the experience 2nd and 3rd string are getting.   Shawn Wade making noise for PT.

I guess it depends on the interpretation of the rule. The kid didn't lead with his helmet, it wasn't intentional, and it was his facemask.
There are two types of targeting. One is leading with the helmet to hit a defenseless ball carrier anywhere on the body. The other is using any part of the body to hit a defense ball carrier in the head. There's more to it than that, but simply not leading with the helmet is not a reason it's not targeting. A player could bring his knee into a ball carrier's head and it would be targeting unless it was unavoidable.

I think the targeting was overruled because the contact to the head was unavoidable.

Seems most don’t agree with me on the targeting. Don’t like to see the QB get helmet to helmet. Anyway, ended up being irrelevant. I don’t like the aspect where it costs a player the second game so probably good on the refs for being conservative.

Haskins is greatness. Guy is the most talented QB I’ve seen come through in my lifetime. Which, admittedly, doesn’t stretch as long as some.

A game like this only helps us. Haskins and DB’s grew tonight and it should pay big dividends down the line.
Man, I hope so. I was not impressed tonight. Run defense is pitiful, been shredded the last two games. There's lots of room for improvement.

But, you can't argue with 3-0 with a win against a top 15 team. Good start to the year.

I'm glad they had this game now.   They had to fight and learn some stuff.  They get to rest a little with Tulane and prepare for Penn state.   And what the flip, can they ever not do a night game white out against us?  It's like they are a friggin one trick pony with that.  College football just feels better in the afternoon.

I am sort of interested to see how they treat the Tulane punt returned that faked the fair catch then took off. Someone, be it OSU or someone else down the road, is gonna flatten that dude on a fair catch and just be all like "I thought he was trying to fool us like he did that other game!"

That was North Texas.  Since Urban takes care of special teams I'm not worried.

Boss had surgery. I have my doubts we’ll ever see in in scarlet and gray again...????
I would agree, which is too bad.  Still a crazy amount of talent to see the field.  Chase needs to go crazy now.

Defense is getting better and has its issues, but damn this offense is beautiful to watch.   It can make up for the big plays given up in spades.

Haskins is a stud. I worry this may be the only season we get to see him.
Oh it will be, and that is OK.  What really stands out to me is his arm just is so much better than anything else you see out there.  His accuracy and zip is just incredible.  I am feeling more and more optimistic about next week.  We win that one, it is 13-0 heading into the CFP.

Robert Landers will be back this week, which is huge for the DT's.  That dude is a monster in the middle and has the best snap jump from a DT I have ever seen.  He is in the backfield before the center knows what happened.

Reports are saying the Bosa should be back in "a few weeks", but it is expected that he will play again.

5 star WR commit Garrett Wilson tweeted for Buckeye Nation to be patient and that this 2019 class was going to be special.  Promising some exciting new commits very soon.

I read somewhere that his dad said November before he may be back.

The exact wording is it will be until November that the doctor will evaluate him.  Sure, that could change, but I think at best we are looking at the Michigan game then the B1G Championship at best.  No reason for him to come back for any of the other November games.

Looking forward to the PSU game this weekend.  Hanging with friends in KY to badger as many non OSU fans as I can find in their local BW3.  Should be a good time!  O - H!!   :banned:

I-O!

There has been some fantastic contribution from younger players this year, which is pretty cool.  Okudah, Prior and Wade showing us how dominant our DB's will be next year.  Tyreke Johnson and Tyler Friday tearing it up as true freshman on the ends with Taron Vincent and Tommy Togai in the middle.  Freaking ridiculous.  I suspect Garret Wilson will be a big contributor as a freshman as well, next season.

Looks like we will get another #Boom tomorrow and grab a great 2019 WR in Jameson Williams.  Also looking like we will be getting APB Wandale Robinson.

As expected, Jameson WIlliams, one of the fastest recruits in the entire 2019 class, commits to Ohio State today.  He is a great complement to Garret Wilson.  Brian Hartline is going to have some amazing tools to work with over these next few years.

Frick yeah.  Can't wait to be at the Minnesota game in 2 weeks.  Im coming home baby!

McSorley is really really good.

OSU's coaching is not very good. Lots of poor decisions and play that seem coaching related. No idea why they didn't go to the screen earlier.

Amazing atmosphere there. Osu always knows it has its hands full going to penn state.
In an OSU Homer, but I have to admit the Whiteout thing is very impressive. Hard for the visitors to play in that environment. I love seeing that.

There were a lot of common recruiting targets at that game,  including Zach Harrison.   I can't help but think this boosted our position in this recruiting class.
