Braylon Edwards won't start Sunday (1 Viewer)

Any Cle homers got any info here? Is he going to miss the first play, first series, first quarter, what?

Is this a "one-series" punishment...or...will he not play the whole game?

I guess I'm going to have to go with Reche Caldwell...I can't afford to risk it in my championship game.

 
Edwards owners are you starting him?

or going with someone else.?

I've got Holt / Harrison / Edwards starting for me but might swap DJ Hacket in for Edwards now....

Any thoughts

 
With so much unknown, you almost have to bench Edwards now...

This sucks..

I'm going to slot in DJ Hackett for now....

If I see or hear anything on Edwards I'll post right away, everyone else do the same...

 
Truth is this:

If the folks here don't know (as evidenced by the first 15 posts in this thread), nobody will know until game time. I'd go with somebody else unless something changes in the next 1/2 hour.

 
This sounds like a disciplinary thing. Otherwise, wouldn't he be on the injury report?

My options are Cotchery or Hackett. With a 70% chance of rain in Seattle, against good SD, and I already have to start Hasselbeck...I'm thinking Cotchery gets the call.

Not liking this.

 
With Romeo on the hotseat, my guess he just sits for a series or two. Pure speculation though without knowing why he has been benched.

Coughlin sat Burress for an entire half earlier this year I believe but I think that was the second half of a game.

This is a crap shot. The first series could be 3 and out and he plays the rest of the game or it could be something more serious.

You'd think with them playing Anderson, they'd love to give him the best change to succeed and stake a claim to the starting job.

this is a strange move..

I'm waiting till about 5 to 1 to make a call, we can change starters up to game time...

 
I'm in a PPR league and I hate starting Lee Evans in that league but today I might have too. I also have to decide between Leaon Washington Or Micheal Pittman. Come to think of it It's a miracle I'm even in this Championship game.

Well he got in trouble a couple of weeks ago and didn't get a catch until the third quarter. I started him that week and was po'd. I will take my chances by putting him on the bench. However that said, everyone else should probably start him since he'll go for 80 and 2 TDs.
 
12:38: We have been unable to unearth anything on WR Braylon Edwards. He's active for the game and we assume is being sat for disciplinary reasons. If they didn't expect to play him, they could have made him inactive, which they did not.

FOX reporting Edwards not starting for missing two meetings this week. No word on when he might enter the game.

 
I'm benching him. Cotchery against the solid Dolphins passing D is my start.

The Jets have something to play for while the Browns are out of it.

I also have Winslow and my opponent has Jurevicious...hope JJ doesn't get Edward's touches.

 
This is so the Cleveland Browns. I'm a Steeler fan and have watched them basically throw games a way and #### there beds on a consistant basis for years now. For some crazy reason I had a plan to intrust my championship game into the hands of a couple of Browns. Anderson and Edwards to be exact. I should have known this would happen. Anything involving the Browns is usually a disaster. I know I'm buzzed :banned: because I said screw it and left both of those knuckle heads in. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment. This is the one and only time you'll hear me say this. Lets go Brownies. :bag:

 
I didn't see this until after kickoff. It may screw me in my championship game. I'm a homer and didn't see any reports as to why, but the late to a meeting thing seems plausible.

The Squealers are getting their asses kicked in a must win game, with their starters in play. The Browns are playing with a backup QB, and a ton of guys on IR. You may not want to keep running your trap.

The Browns don't know what a must win game is. They are more prone to the must lose game so they can snag a higher draft pick. And your playing one of the worst teams in football. Go hide under a rock in your do do brown jumpsuit.

same here. I ####### benched the "injured" Walker for Edwards. Now I can just hope he gets one good play for a TD.
