Breaking Bad on AMC (1 Viewer)

We still do not have confirmation on who actually called Hank before the assassination attempt, right? We assume it was Gus, but never confirmed. The arguments against a DEA insider are compelling, but as much as everybody loves the writing on this show, it has not been perfect or that realistic. At times, frankly, it's been predictable. Season 4 was the least predictable really, and that's why it's my favorite.

 
Ranking the women of BB:

1) Jane (obviously)

2) Walt's ex-principal (always thought she kind of had a thing for Walt, right up until he made his move)

3) All the senoritas from the Mexican poolside massacre (like candles in the wind)

4) Lydia (high maintenance certainly, but still).

5) Andrea (Jesse's most recent ex; not terrible, but has a kiddo)

7) Skyler (I know, I know. Pickings are getting slim).

8) Gretchen (I don't know why exactly)

9) Marie (see #7)

10) Wendy (she can be trusted)

11) Saul's secretary (she has a lot to offer)

12) ATM meth lady (don't turn your back on her)

I'm sure I missed some.

I need help.

Andrea above Lydia for the neediness of the latter, but otherwise good list.Edit: Remember, Lydia has a kid, too.

Yeah, but there is nothing "obvious" about Jane at #1. Unless you love pasty white chicks.I'd move the senoritas to #1, the principle to #2, Lydia/Andrea tied for #3 and Jane at #5.I think I'd get Flynn drunk and see what happens before putting my penis anywhere NEAR the ATM meth lady.

This is where I'm at as well. I really hope they don't take the easy way out with a convenient "inside man" either...

Heisenberg's 'luck' strikes again, but it can only go on for so long. I'm certain that Hank will catch on to Walt's act. Dude's :moneybag: when he obsesses on a case. It's just a question of how much longer the 'luck' holds out before Hank puts the rest of the pieces together IMO. Walt's downfall is going to be pretty dramatic, but we've still got a bunch of episodes left to get there. Enjoy the ride...

He's too close to see it IMO. Plus, He's never thought of Walt as being capable of something ballsy like this. However, now that Heisenberg has taken over (flashy cars, Skyler's personality changes, etc.) it's only a matter of time before Walt's mistakes and new bravado put him squarely in Hank's sights. Also, if he returns to Jessie as a suspect it will lead him to Walt in relatively short order. That could be the "new lead" that helps the investigation.

However, now that Heisenberg has taken over (flashy cars, Skyler's personality changes, etc.) it's only a matter of time before Walt's mistakes and new bravado put him squarely in Hank's sights. Also, if he returns to Jessie as a suspect it will lead him to Walt in relatively short order. That could be the "new lead" that helps the investigation.

True, and I'm mostly kidding.Hank's clearly a great investigator and part of me is starting to find it odd that he's not on Walt yet. We've all known it's coming for a little while now. We all thought he had that "aha" moment 3 episodes ago. Clearly, we were wrong on that.

I'm sure I'm being overly critical though, and tricked by the true timeline of the show. A whirlwind of events have happened in a short time on this show. It's starting to feel like Hank's slow to react, to me, but not much time has really passed BB World. It feels like forever to us.

It'll be very interesting to see how they handle this. The hard part, it seems, is that the time between Hank "suspecting" and Hank "knowing" should be fairly short. I have no idea how they make that process more than 2 episodes.

I'd bump Marie up more. I think she has shown some nice sex appeal on occasion.

She certainly gets a few points for the hospital Old-Fashioned.
 
unless i missed something, but I am surprised Mike/Jesse aren't under constant surveillance.

This has to be the biggest case for the DEA in NM.

Jesse (i think) has been tied to the blue meth.

I suppose with Gus going down the higher ups may feel the case was cracked wide open and essentially closed, but Heisenberg is still out there, and that is the face everyone had associated with the blue meth.

The predominate DEA thinking was that Gale was the "Heisenberg" cooking master mind (primarily due to his notebook full of technical information), at least until Walt/Heisenberg's ego started Hank to think differently.

I think the 'aha' moment was more of a seed planted in Hank's mind, and when it all comes together it will grow to fruition. It's just a tease at this point, showing us just how fragile Walt's facade is becoming and how close Hank is to putting together all of the pieces. Next time around a phone call from Saul's secretary, a diversionary tactic by Walt (like revealing Skyler's infidelity), or a pretend fugue state isn't going to put Hank off the trail. Writers are doing a good job of building up tension and slow playing it at the same time IMHO.I'm enjoying the journey at this point...
 
So I have been avoiding this thread ever since I got [icon]'s warning post last Sunday when he posted about "uh-oh previews" :unsure:

Has everyone been getting along nicely? I'll catch up after tonight's Breaking Bad is underway (assuming it is not a repeat) since I can only read this thread for ~30 minutes a week before next week's previews spoilers are shown and discussed in thread.
