Breaking Bad on AMC (2 Viewers)

Why are you guys so obsessed with seeing Walt cook again? Go watch a repeat.
I don't need to see another meth production montage. But Walt's genius in understanding and applying chemistry has been the foundation upon which everything that has passed in this show has been built. The only exceptional capability Walt has is his prowess in this area. It's his "superpower," the main weapon in his arsenal (not a vial of ricin or an M60). I'd like to see it brought to bear one more time before the show is over.

The ricin is absolutely in line with his super power.

I would argue the things like the vial of ricin are more in line with his superpowers than cooking a nice batch of meth.

I don't understand why everyone thinks Walt will kill himself before being arrested. We have seen him try to turn himself in twice in the last three episodes. First, when Hank and Gomez follow him to his money he has a gun in his hand. He could have tuned around and pointed it at Hank and Hank would have killed him. Then lady night, he called the police so they could come and get him before he changed his mind after seeing Elliot and Gretchen talk about him. He isn't afraid of being caught. He is afraid of being trivialized.

Right now, his legacy is Heisenberg and the blue meth. Much like what happend with Grey Matter, someone else is using something he created and profiting from it. He heard that the blue is still out there and still getting to Europe. He figured that either Jessie is still alive or that Todd figured out how to cook and he is going back to NM to make sure that no one else lives off his legacy.

He is going to stop the Nazi meth operation. Maybe he will use the machine gun. Maybe the machine gun is a red herring. Maybe he let someone see him at his old house because he knows the heat is on him. Maybe he wants to lead the Feds to the Nazi setup and he can use the idea of being forced to cook the same way the Jessie is being forced to put it all on the Nazi's like they were in charge. Aren't they the ones in possession of the money? If he led them to where Hank and Gomez are buried wouldn't I be their guns who would match ballistics?

Just throwing stuff against a wall and seeing what sticks....
 I agree with most of this. I started thinking he might try to frame the Nazis a couple of episodes ago.

One more thought...I know many of you will hate this, and I hate to even write it too...but while the last episode could be a great setup for a great finale....It could also be the first episode in a 2-episode epic crash. It's hard to imagine these writers allowing that to happen....But I'm just sayin'....This last episode only works if we get a home run in the finale.
What? Last night's episode was great. Epic crash?
I didn't say it was an epic crash. But it was clearly a bit of a setup episode. They introduced a new character, spent 25 minutes in the cabin, etc. I loved the episode, I really did. But if they don't come through in the finale, the last two episodes will generate a ton of heat for their lack of "action".

I don't think for a second that these writers will let that happen. This was too dark and depressing of an episode and I think they have something big in store.

But just look at this thread for proof. Many were a tad under-whelmed after everyone and their brother said that the previous episode was possibly the best one in the history of the show.
For the most part I agree but I thought last night's show wasnt that good
Not that good but not "Fly" or "Peek a boo" bad either.

Would think a big motivation for Walt would be to make it clear to Flynn that he didn't kill Hank. Yeah Hank got caught in Walt's wake but Walt was willing to turn himself in rather then kill Hank.

I will be a little disappointed if Gray Matter is much of a deal in the finale.

Walt cooking is no longer a superpower. The new higher purity of Jesse and Todd's cook makes Walt unneeded, which is why none of the other people seem to care about where he is.

Not really. His superpowers at meth cooking are more or less unsurpassed and is what allowed him to build an empire and at various times get away with sheer stupidity or be considered too valuable to lose. He doesn't cook "nice" meth, he cooks super pure meth unlike anything else out there.

No one cares because they have 60mill.
Todd cares. He wants to get the product back to where it was.
Todd wants to nail the uptight chemical whore, product might be secondary.
Exactly, but in the context of those comments he wants the product as pure as possible. His motive isn't relevant.

Seriously? The things that made Walt Break Bad are Gray Matter and cancer. I think people got too caught up in the whole drug game stuff and forgot that the show is about human transformation and the causes for and consequences of actions/situations.

Grey Matter has fulfilled its role. The whole interview and the mention that blue is back in the southwest was simply a catalyst for Walt to go and prevent something he created from being profited from by others a second time. Trying to shoehorn him getting even with both the Nazi's and the Schwartz would be cramming too much into one episode.

I rewatched the pilot earlier today. They could actually kill off Walt in the first 10 minutes of the finale and then just re-air the pilot and that would be enough of a gut punch. Also, there's a better case than I remembered for Walt going out in a blaze of glory.

Guys, the Grey Matter thing is done. Walt gave a speech a while back about how he sold his sons birthright for $5000 or whatever and it was the biggest mistake of his life, but he has no reason to want to go after the Schwartz's. His mistake was his alone, not theirs. Uncle Jack on the other hand . . .

So you have seen the final episode?

You could be right but to say it may be disappointing that gray matter may matter in the end is ridiculous.

Prediction time:

1. Jessie lives and will take care of Brock

2. Nazi = bye bye

3. Walt turns himself in to get the heat off the family and show Walt Jr he did not kill Hank. Takes ricin as credit end.

Isn't Grandma still alive? She was never very thrilled with Jesse and would probably stand in the way of Jesse taking care of him. This of course ignores the fact that Jesse is an associate of a meth kingpin and will be just as wanted by the government if he escapes. I don't think this is good for his adoption resume.

This whole thing Walt started has to end. I don't see anyone continuing the meth business in ABQ beyond the last episode. Lydia could go off into the sunset continuing things elsewhere. The king was Gus, then Walt took over, then post-series it's Lydia.

Walt somehow kills or puts the Nazis out of business, gets money to his family, then dies from cancer

Jessie gets a good chunk of the money, is a single dad to Brock and lives happily ever after.

I did have to step away from the fictional show last night and wonder for a minute why the vacuum guy doesn't just kill Walt in that lonely cabin and then drive off with the 11M. Code amongst certain thieves I guess.
not every criminal is a murderer

Wonder if there are any hints/clues here: watch the finale with Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston

WHAT YOU'LL DO: Aaron is throwing an amazing party with Cinespia at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery to celebrate the finale, and you will be his guests of honor. You'll roll up in an RV with Aaron, throw on the Hazmat suits, do a little cooking, and then watch both the pilot episode and finale with the entire cast on a movie-sized screen, before celebrating together at the private, star-studded after party.
Proceeds benefit the KIND Campaign

If they are doing this right, they'd do the old trick of shooting 3 endings and nobody knows right now but Gilligan and his editor.
