I took it as Walt thinking Gus cut him because he knew too much about the business. Walt was then thinking as soon as he knows what Mike does, he can Victor him. Maybe?

I immediately thought he was talking about Mike, how Mike is like Victor and pushing his luck; my wife immediately thought he was "warning" Jesse, "he thought he could cook on his own". Watching it a second time, still wasn't clear to either of us.

I think the reference to Victor was that he overstepped his bounds. Which Walt thinks Mike did.

Walt thinks he is the sun. He is too dumb to know how much he needs Mike, and since he has often been the instrument of his own demise, having him take out Mike, causing things to crumble around him would fit his character.

There was a nice little nod in the cook tent, showing Walt and Jesse making the batch, there was a beautiful shot of the aluminum scraps being added to the mix. Of course, that was the part Walt was sure Victor would miss when he watched him cook solo in "Box Cutter". "Bet you he forgets the aluminum." Making a subtle reference to that episode earlier really hit when Walt brought up Victor at the end.

I think they leave it for the Vamonos Pest team to disassemble for them. Although, conceivably, if they don't open it up the carpet underneath could still hide insects and cause problems for the now-clean pest control business.

Ok. I went back and looked and the lab equipment is still in it. I originally thought they packed it all up. But the carpet underneath is left untreated, so no bueno.

I didn't take as much joy in that scene as I would have imagined, given Skyler's meltdown.

I think it was just meant to tell the viewer that the exterminators are on the look out for snooping homeowners. Just trying to make the whole idea more plausible.I think the idea of cooking out of these homes is a stretch. I bet if you asked an exterminator they'd say it was not uncommon for a homeowner to return to the house unexpectedly.

It's a stretch but trivial at this point in the story.

This interaction did both; solidified the storyline and introduced the new character.

The homeowners coming home is easily addressed by putting a man outside the house while they're cooking. If I have an issue with this season, it has nothing to do with the plausibility of the magnet or the pest control set-up, but with what a moron Walt has become.

There was an episode of Malcolm in the Middle where Hal & Lois went back into their fumigated house for some "intimacy". Also during that episode, Malcolm is babysitting for a rich(er) family and finds out they were spying on him with a nanny-cam. I thought it was a nice homage.

As I mentioned last week, I'll be disappointed (in the show) if Jesse doesn't wise up to Walt very soon. If the little Victor speech doesn't officially set that in motion, then something's off. I don't care how much he's been manipulated or how much he longs for a daddy figure, at some point, he's just an idiot. I thought he was already past that point. Now, he's absolutely past it.

There's simply no way that Jesse can't see that the Walt he once knew is gone and has been replaced with a time bomb that will get him killed or kill him himself.Aside from Mike being a decent human being, he's also the only one Jesse needs of the two.

If this thing drags out any longer, then I think they are artificially trying to build suspense and not being true to the characters (unless anyone believes Jesse a complete doe-eyed buffoon).

Of course Jesse was going to wise up to Walt. With how stupid Walt has become, it was inevitable that he would do or say something to tip Jesse off to the fact that he's gone around the bend.

I can foresee a scene where kids are playing hide-n-seek or something similar, maybe a neighbor's kid so that the family leaving the house wouldn't be suspicious of someone missing in one of these houses that is getting fumigated. The kid walks in on Jesse and Walt and Walt has to make the executive decision to knock the kid out and make it look like he died due to the fumigation to keep him quiet. This would wake Jesse up to Brock and get the tangent spinning. A bit of a stretch but there are a number of ways for this moveable location to backfire on them.

Jesse still feels a ton of guilt. Walt has been nothing but gentle and reassuring to Jesse this season (until the final scene of the last episode). In past seasons Walt was a total ##### to Jesse 90% of the time. I think it's totally plausible that Jesse hasn't wised up yet.Obviously Walt is ridiculously overconfident at this point and his demeanor makes it clear that any decency he had is gone. There's a total calmness to everything he does that hasn't been there in the past. It will be what does him in, but I think his appeasement of Jesse and Marie has been totally effective so far. His attitude with Mike is what's going to tip the first domino that leads to his unraveling.
