Breaking Bad on AMC (3 Viewers)

Now that the cops are involved and all the cards are on the table it would be realistic to imagine that the DEA will go after Lydia and the nazis.

They don't know of the existence of Lydia and the Nazi's. All they have is Walt's call to Jesse confessing to older stuff and his call to Skyler where he said the he, Walt, killed Hank.

The main reason why I think Walt will want to save Jesse is that if he didn't the story would be equally served by having Jesse dead now. I don't see the point in having Jesse be a meth-slave (which many people have been predicting since the first half of season 5) if the end game isn't Walt rescuing him.

I can only speculate as to your second questions but I'll do so in spoiler tags because it concerns a (pretty mild) plot point that was inadvertently spoiled.

Charlie Rose let slip that he has a cameo as himself in the next episode. One guess is that Walt's story is publicized. Charlie is interviewing someone in relation to the story (Marie? Gretchen, who it's also spoiled will be in one of the next two episodes?) and mentions that it's puzzling that the trademark pure, blue meth is still on the street.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think they have that. Hank had Jesse's phone, and he and Gummy are the only ones who have heard that. He went straight to the shootout, and are now gone. I'm sure that phone, if not already destroyed, is buried in the desert.

Something we haven't really discussed yet: what did you guys think of Flynn's reaction to the news that his dad was a mastermind drug dealer? And what do you predict his role will be in the last 2 episodes?

 
UGHHHH... Can not wait to watch this episode tonight. Getting through the day without firing it up online is going to be rougher than I thought. Have to wait to watch it with the wife though. :kicksrock:

Isn't Jesse's confession DVD still at the Schrader estate? I'm assuming Jesse told them about the DVD and where it's at.

The machine gun for the Nazi's seems a little too easy to guess, but for good reason. Walt returning to kill the Nazi's for the damage they have done or will do to his family makes the most sense.

Getting rid of Marie to find the DVD and going after Skyler makes sense for the Nazi's. Those are some loose ends that could tie the Nazi's to a conspiracy to commit 9 homicides (though, I don't think Skyler knows the details, but they could easily think she does).

That actor did a great job with that scene. We really do not think much about him, as he seems to be comic relief for a lot of people cause of the whole breakfast thing :lol: . but considering how powerful that whole sequence was, he did a really good job with it.

Yes. Todd initially said "let's keep Jesse around so he can tell us what he told the Feds." Later, when pulling a beaten Jesse out of the box, Jesse cried out "I told you everything. I told you where you can find it, just go get it and you'll know," meaning that if the Nazis go to the Schrader's house, they'll know exactly what Jesse told the DEA. That's when Jesse learned Todd actually had other plans, cooking more meth.

 
Yeah, I'm in the camp that Walt tries to do something noble in the last two episodes. I don't see him killing the Nazis or Todd or Jesse just for revenge.

I think Walt's gonna have to contact Saul post-disappearance. How else would he hook up with the guy in the diner? Walt doesn't really have any connections except through Saul.

 
I can see Walt getting the machine gun b/c he knows the blue stuff is out there still...so the Nazi's didn't keep their word. His ego is big enough that he doesn't want his product out there anymore, and he wants revenge. He tracks them down and kills as many as he can and they mow him down, Scarface style (which they've referenced a few times)

Could totally see it being Todd that takes him out.

 
I really just don't see any "Walt being pissed the Nazi's are cooking his recipe" angle.

Personally, I think Heisenberg is gone, and I don't think he gives a #### who's cooking what. The only reason would be if he had intentions of cooking again. I don't think he would have any interest and the flash forwards certainly don't indicate it.

If the gun is for the Nazi's, it's family revenge or protection, imo.

Not that I'm sure of anything at this point though.

Fire Departments are safe surrender sites. You can turn a baby in there with no legal repercussions to one's self. Emergency rooms are the same.

Obviously, Walt's situation was a little different. But obviously he knew he could leave Holly there and they'd know what to do.

 
Yeah, I think Walt's over the meth hubris and saving Jesse. Maybe the gun is to take out the nazis to reclaim his barrels of cash, to give to Skyler.

 
Darkest episode of the series. A little depressing even.

Somehow Jessie comes out on top. Jessie cannot die. The character is too beloved.

You don't have to assume that. Jesse told Todd that and Todd said it was being taken care of.

The only reason why I think it's relevant for Walt to know the blue meth is out there is that it allows him to surmise that Jesse is still alive.

 
so that flashback in the RV to start that last episode was the last scene shot for BB. Aaron Paul mentioned it in an issue of Rolling Stone that in this final scene, he and Cranston were "inside, somewhere", and when it was over they really didn't want to leave and sat there talking to each other, or whatever, presumably they're talking about the RV.

They film that scene last so that everyone can be shaved and get a haircut/wig in just the right way, etc. etc.

Maybe, but I just don't think Walt's desire to see Jesse dead would be enough to come out of hiding and go on a likely suicide mission.

 
One thing that is so incredible about the writing in this show... People never guess what actually ends up happening and at the same time the show never relies on jarring twists. Stuff like Gomez being in on it with Walt, sequences that end up being dreams, or other lazy crap shows always do to keep people guessing.

If the next 2 episodes are on the same level, this is the greatest drama in TV history. It is for me anyway, but that should put it on top for everyone.

I think the ship has sailed on getting them the cash. Walt made sure to threaten her in his call to ensure that they'd be taken care of in witness protection. At least that's how I saw it..

I was initially wondering if that scene had been shot back in 2008 and saved until now, but once we saw Skyler on the phone, I knew it was a newly-shot scene since Anna Gunn doesn't look the same now as she did then, and it was the 2013 Anna Gunn in that scene, not the 2008 one.

Yeah, that is pretty amazing. We're terrible at guessing what happens next, but it always makes sense.

Kind of the anti-Dexter, where the plot is never either sensible or surprising.

I don't think the show really deals in swerves all that often. Keeping Hank alive somehow would have been a swerve. Like most good stories, I think the ending of Breaking Bad should feel inexorable considering the logic of the story so far.

Why would Walt go in machine-gunning a meth lab of Nazis when he can just give up Lydia (who I'm sure would give up the Nazis) and pull the whole thing down?

That he very clearly appeared to not be sought after when he returned to ABQ keeps sticking with me.

My opinion? Because the best case scenario there would end up with Jesse in jail for the rest of his life. I still think that the ending that makes the most sense for the show is for Walt to somehow allow Jesse to have the type of life (with Andrea and Brock) that Walt's hubris destroyed for himself. I'm not entirely sure that's the ending we'll get, because there's a fair argument that Jesse (by killing Gayle) has gone too far to deserve that ending.

I don't think we've received much information to let us know whether Walter White is still wanted in ABQ. The fact that Walt isn't exactly hiding simply means (to me) that he's already on a suicide mission.

Really shows the flaw in Ocean's Eleven ~$163 million should have weighed 3,520 pounds. Figure those duffel bags couldn't have weighed more than 100 pounds each to carry them in 1 hand like that and they would need 35 of those bags to transport that much money.

I don't have Netflix at the moment so I can't go back and watch the first season. I initially got the feeling that this was an old scene. In fact, I feel pretty confident I'd seen it before, at least the scene when they were in the RV. I was of the opinion while watching it, that they used a mix of old stuff and some new stuff. If anyone can go back and confirm that'd be great.

:lmao: at Jesse performing ninja moves in the background while Walt was on the phone. I'm sure Aaron Paul had a blast getting to be "old Jesse", even if only for one scene.
