Breaking Bad on AMC (3 Viewers)

I bet the whole thing was just a dream, Walt found out he got cancer and jumped off a bridge but survived. The whole time Skylar has been unable to pull the plug and what we've watched over the seasons has just been Walt's dreams from his coma. In the final episode Skylar decides to pull the plug and we are left with the sound of a flatlining beeeep followed by black followed by what could be the sound of a heartbeat on the sensor....

I think many people in the audience gave up on Marie when she forced Skylar to tell Walt Jr the truth about the drugs. While it was the honest thing to do, I think Marie did it vindictively, especially after Walt made the DVD about Hank being the drug lord. I think there was a part of Marie that wanted to break Skylar's family apart because deep down she wanted Holly for herself and knew Hank and her would never end up having kids.

Walt can't get his family that money, but the wealthiest people he knows are Gretchen and her husband and Gray Matter. So I suspect Walt visits them, tells them they will support Skylar and the kid financially and get them superior legal defense, or the open contracts he paid to put hits on them would go into effect.

The show goes to great pains to show Lydia and her tea, how particular she is about her tea and what come with it. My guess is the ricin i for Lydia, as soon as she introduces Walt to her Czech Republic contacts and he goes there, she will die in a few days. Lydia is driven by greed, the thought of Walt in Czech, cooking 95 percent pure blue will make her not consider Walt is tying off loose ends.

Walt uses the M60 to get revenge on the Aryans. Uncle Jack is crawling on the ground, then looks up at Walt. And Walt asks him, "What's my name?" And Uncle Jack says "Walter White" And then Walt unloads about 80 rounds from the M60 into him. And screams out, "It's Heisenberg" Except he doesn't really figure out Todd is wounded, and not dead, and escapes.

Jesse is still in the cage and Walt throws him down a lot of drugs. His choice is to OD to death or starve/dehydrate to death. Then Walt pulls the tarp over the cage.

Todd drives recklessly to get to Skylar, and crashes his car into the agents car that is tailing her. He shoots Flynn who steps in front of Skylar, then Skylar shields Holly with her body as Todd empties his gun into a crumpled over Skylar. Backup US Marshals and DEA arrive and shoot Todd dead. Everyone assumes all three of the Whites are dead.

Walt, finally realizing his desire to finish his revenge with Jessie made him overlook Todd, gets close to the shooting is about to shoot himself when he hears a baby cry. Holly is alive. He says nothing. He drives away.

Montage ( Some song from Mr Chips) - Marie and Holly are now in Witness Protection. Lydia's daughter calls out for her mother, the housekeeper i talking the the police. She is missing and has not been seen for weeks. Robert Forester is shown dead in his cabin, tied up and tortured. Saul is seen with someone with a gun walking up behind him ( implies death but not shown) The bodies of Kuby and Huell are shown. Gretchen and her husband are eating breakfast, she makes the bacon into the face like Walt used to like, and both comment that the food does taste a little different today, the montage pan out to a man with gloves throwing an empty vial into the sewer outside of Gretchen's house.

Walt, in remission, is cooking in the Czech Republic. He store money in a vault, on top of it, on a piece of paper, he writes "For Holly" and closes the vault door. He doesn't smile, he cries, and as the door closes, the show fades to black with it.

With Gray Matter back in the mix, it is a little surprising that Elliot and Gretchen haven't offered to help Skyler with her legal defense? I mean, they did offer to pay for all of the Walt's medical bills, and you know they can afford it. Granted, they might not want to help someone they thought was a friend and is, for all they know, guilty of having aided Walt in building his meth empire, but still. Then again, they would have to go to Skyler first, as Skyler is probably too ashamed and embarrassed to go to them for help, so I guess I just debunked my own thought. :lol:

 
Gretchen looks like she'd be one of those vegan chicks. Hot, but not enough to have to sit through a salad dinner in order to throw a good ####in on her. Either way, she won't be cooking bacon anytime soon.

I'm no PR specialist, but a company worth a billion dollars....i would think distancing would be the primary objective here.

nobody specifically theorized that he'd take the ricin before even going to shoot up the Nazis. it was always discussed in the context of doing it before being captured if that happened. if I am wrong here, then i'll go back and read every page from page 1.

he might even take it in the car right after taking it out of the house. <--- I came up with this idea.

I don't really think it's crazy, if it's the "no half-measures" scenario that RHE laid out earlier in the thread. At this point I think Walt's the most likely ricin eater.

that's the only way it makes some sense, but it still means he's going to kill himself before the ricin does what it's supposed to do.

There's no way Walt decides to give himself a painful, miserable, long and drawn out death.

He's already dying of cancer which is a painful, miserable, long and drawn out death. Ricin in comparison is quicker and could very well be his last resort right before being taken into custody by the DEA or by the Nazi's.

Hopefully these will be included within the special features of the DVD/BR and they'll get posted online. It was probably pretty fun for someone on staff to write these all up.

 
Prediction: they name the last episode after a combination of the chemical element symbols. Like Sulfur, Oxygen and Kryptonite, but only much much cooler.

I think the prediction made in the comments is more likely- Felina is taken from the classic tune El Paso. That's the first association I made when I heard the title. Google the lyrics and you can see the obvious connection, as well as possibly a hint at the ending if they continue with the song's narrative.

 
Good question about screen caps of newspapers; anybody find them?

Ricin for Lydia is most obvious being they keep showing the tea and stevia, plus Walt already was going to use it in her previously. Maybe he does escape to Europe through her somehow, and she dies afterwards but before she has hired goons take out nazis and Jesse. He cooks and dies in Europe of cancer with his new stray cat as his only companion.

The climax of Breaking Bad will center around Walter Junior.

The two-hour season finale will resolve a scenario where Walt Senior must choose whether to trade his life for his son's. Walter Junior will be offered a choice to commit murder ("break bad") to protect someone he loves. It is likely this will be set up by Lydia's own need to protect her children, offering us a contrast between Lydia and Walt's choices.

Walter Junior is a pivotal character for a few reasons:

  • Walter Senior has almost completed his "breaking bad" journey. His lies, manipulation, and murder started with lowlifes like Tuco and Krazy 8 but moved further into his inner circle, sucking in Jesse, Skyler, and Hank. There is still a line Walt has not crossed: his love for his children is still pure and is what allows him to remain human to us.
  • The Breaking Bad world is one where every adult is deeply flawed or corrupted. The children remain innocent victims. But Walt Junior is no longer a child: we have watched him grown into a man. Is he doomed to follow the same path as the other adults in his life, or does he have a choice?
  • Walt's initial justification for breaking bad was to provide for his family after his death. This rationale has gotten flimsier as Walt's cancer went into remission and as he amassed enough cash to support his family for a lifetime, but it still offers him a shred of rationale to hold onto. If Walt were to betray his own children, he'd become pure monster, beyond redemption in our eyes or, more importantly, his own.
The writing team at Breaking Bad is simply too good to allow the show to end with a mano-a-mano violent showdown between Walt or Hank and Walt and Jesse. Yes, those showdowns will happen, but only to set up the final showdown with Walt Junior and Senior.

And that showdown provides the best, perhaps the only, opportunity for us to see the themes explored in Breaking Bad reach their logical conclusions. Can the purest of us be corrupted, and can the most corrupt of us still find redemption? And are those choices free for us to make, or are we doomed by our circumstances?

Vince Gilligan and his team are playing a long game. Walt Junior has remained a fairly uninteresting character precisely we need to think of him as sitting just outside of the Breaking Bad universe. That Walt Junior could break bad, or that Walt Senior could cross the final line must never occur to us. It must be shocking to us when that possibility occurs, and its resolution offers far more drama than any gunfight or police procedural possibly could.

His name is Walter Junior for a reason.

Update, September 5: I knew this was a risky prediction when I made it, but Walter Junior is getting more and more involved over the last few episodes, so I still like my odds. My prediction is that a misunderstanding will develop where Walt Junior thinks that he need to kill someone (perhaps Lydia or Jessie) to save his parents. Walt will need to sacrifice himself to keep Junior from crossing that line.

Update, September 19: Uh-oh, my prediction is trending downward. Walt has been given several opportunities to turn on his family, and (other than his virtual son Jessie) he has firmly come down on the side of protecting them. And Walt Jr., does not seem to be wavering at all. It took him a split second to pick up the phone and call the police when Walt crossed him.

I know I have to be wrong, I almost hope I am. The suspense could be ruined, so be alert. (Potential Spoilers).

Here is my take:
I agree with the anonymous answer that predicts the "Felina" episode is centered on the Marty Robbins song, "El Paso", but I have a different take than anonymous.

Breaking Bad (TV series): How will the Breaking Bad series end?

Here are the lyrics and my thoughts:

  • Rosa's cantina is Walt's house.
Blacker than night were the eyes of Felina,
Wicked and evil while casting a spell.

I was in love but in vain, I could tell.
  • Walt is the singer. Felina is Heisenberg. Walt loves the power and the money of being Heisenberg, but just can't keep control of things in Heisenberg's world. Things keep spiraling "whirling" out of control. His love is in vain.
One night a wild young cowboy came in,
Wild as the West Texas wind.
Dashing and daring,
A drink he was sharing
With wicked Felina,
The girl that I loved.
  • Hank is the wild young cowboy, he was "sharing a drink", enjoying the pursuit of Heisenberg, matching wits with him.
  • Hank also took Walt's drink from him in the pilot episode. He used it to raise a toast to Walt.
So in anger I

Challenged his right for the love of this maiden.
Down went his hand for the gun that he wore.
My challenge was answered in less than a heart-beat;
The handsome young stranger lay dead on the floor.
  • Hank and Walt clash openly.
  • Hank is killed.
Just for a moment I stood there in silence,
Shocked by the FOUL EVIL deed I had done.
  • When he was leaving the shootout site, Walt adjusted his rearview mirror and looked in silence at the spot where Hanks body had lain.
Many thoughts raced through my mind as I stood there;
I had but one chance and that was to run.

Out through the back door of Rosa's I ran,
Out where the horses were tied.
I caught a good one.
It looked like it could run.
  • Walt bought the old Chevy truck.

  • Walt's cancer is going to find and kill him eventually. His family is forever lost. Why not get back the money for his family and preserve the Heisenberg legacy. Heisenberg can't just crawl away, beaten to die alone. Someone is screwing with his perfect meth recipe, taking over his empire, others have taken his wealth. That cannot be Heisenberg's legacy.
And at last here I

Am on the hill overlooking El Paso;
I can see Rosa's cantina below.
My love is strong and it pushes me onward.
Down off the hill to Felina I go.

Off to my right I see five mounted cowboys;
  • Rosa's cantina is Walt's house, he needs to go there to get the ricin. The cowboys are the police.
  • The meth lab is being run by Lydia, Todd and an unwilling Jesse. They are "on his right."
Off to my left ride a dozen or more.
Shouting and shooting I can't let them catch me.
I have to make it to Rosa's back door.
  • Jack and his crew have his money, "on his left".
  • The DEA is also "on his left."
Something is dreadfully wrong for I feel
A deep burning pain in my side.
Though I am trying
To stay in the saddle,
I'm getting weary,
Unable to ride.
  • Possibly Walt has ingested a small amount of the ricin as he was preparing it for Jack and his goons.
  • Walt may get into an altercation with police or DEA after retrieving the ricin and he gets shot.
But my love for

Felina is strong and I rise where I've fallen,
Though I am weary I can't stop to rest.
I see the white puff of smoke from the rifle.
  • The white puff of smoke is the ricin powder.
I feel the bullet go deep in my chest.
  • Just as Gus had to ingest the poison in Mexico when he destroyed the cartel, Walt has to inhale the powdered ricin along with Jack and his gang. Jack, his boys and Walt are dying the slow flu-like ricin death. Walt makes it to the lab and uses the gun to rain bullets down upon it, completely destroying it.
From out of nowhere Felina has found me,
  • As Walt lays dying, Jesse (who Walt believes has been killed by Todd) comes "From out of nowhere."
Kissing my cheek as she kneels by my side.
Cradled by two loving arms that I'll die for,
  • Jesse and Walt make peace. "by my side"
  • Jesse promises to get money to Walt's family.
  • Jesse also vows no further blue meth will be produced, thus preserving Heisenberg's meth production legacy.
  • Heisenberg goes out as a bad ### mo-fo who took down all challengers.
  • Walt begs Jesse to kill him, "two loving arms I'll die for" spare him the miserable end of a ricin poisoning. As you would a suffering dog. "
One little kiss and Felina, good-bye.
  • An anguished Jesse shoots Walt, "one little kiss".
  • Walt dies. Heisenberg is gone forever, good-bye.

Okay, to me, all the pieces fit. Just as they did in my previous (incorrect) guess.
