NE - WR Gaffney To See More Work?

Summary: NFL Network is reporting this morning that Wes Welker's ribs could be more of issue than thought and that WR Jabar Gaffney could see plenty of work along with Randy Moss.

Any opinions?

Would be interesting to see if his footballguys week 1 prediction change. in my scoring system (won't post it because of non-subscribers) he's currently 4.3 pts

An interesting stat on Jabar Gaffney: He finished 3rd last year amongst all WR's with at least 50 targets in terms of reception percentage (72%), behind only Wes Welker and Anthony Gonzalez. He stands to benefit from the increased targets at an even higher rate than most players as a result.

I've been expecting Gaffney to get a few more touches this year even with a healthy Welker, considering Stallworth is gone and Chad couldn't step it up.

As for today, KC is going to struggle just to cover both Moss and Welker (even if he isn't 100%). I can easily see Gaffney putting up some decent stats. I wanted to play him today, but I'd have to bench Ricky Williams to do it.

I had him in there in a deep league over Patten and Bruce, but took him out (for Bruce) when I saw the weather report. Maybe I need to get him back in there.

Hanna is long gone. It's a perfect day up here in New England.
