Breaking News - Terrell Owens Rushed to local hospital (2 Viewers)

... this was all one big rush to judgement by the police and ...
The media, perhaps ... but the police at least had collected evidence of a suicide (Owens' "confession"). What happened since Owens was interviewed by police, I don't know.

RECAP: Drew Bledsoe Lockerroom Interview

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bledsoe says:

the bye week was good, fun in the sun

I know very little, to is there, he just played catch with him and he is out on the field running around.

Playing catch outside

helicopters overhead, but no one filmed us

Terrell draws more attention than anyone, I was concerned about him, he is my friend and my teammate and I was skeptical of the news reports and they are erronoeus.

I didnt ask him if he tried to commit suicide.

It was obvious from seeing him and talking to him he didnt.

Walked up to him and said keep your head up and glad your ok.

TO said the media today is crazy

No effects from the event, he was running well and catching the ball well, had a good attitude, proved the reports were not true.

I am frustrated with media taking off and running with the first thing they hear, like saying he tried to commit suicide. the media needs to stop trying to get the biggest story and jumping to conclusions...

We went to practice and didnt know what had happened for sure yet, but we got to know him and realized he wouldnt do that.

The big thing for us, we need to execute and not make mistakes against the titans. Can let them hang around, they have a disruptive defense that can make you look bad. The titans have our attention and we need to be on top of our game.

Our team so far because of training camp can stay focused, because of parcells and the veteran leadership and thinks that will be the case, we practiced well today.

TO can play sunday, and I wouldnt rule that out. The only thing he cant do is get hit on the hand because the bone hasnt healed yet. He has to practice the next two days though.

The outside stuff is there but it is easy for us to stay focused because of our routine and practice.

The football part is the same as buffalo or anywhere, just need to remember you are here to do a job and keep the other stuff out.

we dont see the extra curicular stuff as much as people think, we are busy and the other stuff doesnt get to us much.

Chris simms---That is what you do, he is tough and played through pain hats off to him for competing, I went back into my game when brady came in and then came out because I got wacked in the head.

vince young is the savior like I was in new england, its tough. its like sticking your head in a popcorn machine while the popcorn is popping. VInce would present new challenges to our defense.

qbs are case by case you are ready to play when you are ready, everybody is different.

competitors want to be out there, no matter what.

TO: "I'm not depressed. Very happy to be here. Came here to get this team on a roll and into the playoffs."

Says he was out of it and doesn't remember any of it.

Publicist speaking now. Dispell reports that he was trying to take his life and do harm to himself. Says he wasn't coherent to speak. Called 911 because he wasn't in his normal responsive state.

Publicist:

Bottom line is she called 911, Terrell was not feeling well. He had an allergic reaction, anything could have happened.

Dont the words "act as if nothing happened" mean anything. He obviously did this, regrets it and is now going to try to sweep it under the rug.
I don't think it's "obvious" that that's what happened any more than the opposite is "obvious". The problem is that every person or entity involved has its neck stuck way out here and has its own interests to protect, and TO has resources that virtually anyone else would lack in order to control/spin information about this incident. We're all in the dark. What I do think is clear is that as of this afternoon, TO's actions (scheduled presser; playing catch) indicate that he's out of physical danger and he's trying to put this behind him. What happened before this afternoon we'll never know. As odd as I thought last year's circus was with the Eagles, this one takes the cake. Amazing.

Well, if it was all misinterpreted and he didn't attempt suicide, I hate him even more. Today I started feeling sorry for him, and praying he would be ok. I just heard he is laughing it off, saying the suicide report is totally false.

What a jerk.
Sooo, if this was all one big rush to judgement by the police and media and TO didn't attempt suicide......HE'S a jerk?? :loco:
Exactly, that made no sense. It's obvious the media is spinning this thing. ESPN started this trend IMO. Sportscenter is nothing more than the "60 Minutes" of the sports world now and I refuse to watch, it makes me sick. It's ridiculous.
Lies, lies and more lies. Now they are saying the Police reports are false?!? The Police took advantage of Terrell? What a friggin joke....

Says he wasn't coherent when cops asked if he tried to harm himself. Didn't remember the cops or doctors.
This is a perfect out. Now it all comes down to whether we, individually, believe this or not ... though our opinions don't matter at all. The truth is now pretty much unknowable by anyone but Owens.

Glad it was a misunderstanding. But, OMG, it is unbelievable how much news attention he commands. CNBC even disrupted coverage to carry the whole press conf. (exc kim's part, but they're now talking about it AGAIN)

Michael Irvin on ESPN says that he agrees that TO just had a reaction and that a lot of older players take supplements and empty them into a container so all pills are in one container so he understands how that situation could happen.

:goodposting: Can we all move on now?

Kim's (the publicist) story sounds shady. Contradicting in a couple of areas. But I don't care. Bottom line is that TO is ok and should be on the field by this weekend or next.

In other news it appears Michael Irvin may be on something at the moment. He's barely coherent on ESPN. Usually he's just loud and louder. Today he sounds like he's stoned.

For any of you guys that couldn't see it, here's the high points and what I sent our guys.

Hi Folks,Terrell Owens just finished speaking at the Cowboy's facility. In a nutshell, he's good to go.He was asked if he thought he could play Sunday. Owens answered, "Yeah, I just gotfinished working out." He had been on the field running routes with quarterbackDrew Bledsoe. He said very clearly, "There was no suicide attempt."He also said, "The report of me taking 35 pills is absurd."As far as his treatment at the hospital, he said "rumors of me having my stomachpumped are untrue."[[[[[[[[[[[[[[ OUR VIEW ]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]Speculation about this will rage for a while I'm sure. That's really not of interest to me. What we're looking at is that he appears tobe fine and he's practicing on the field. If you have an Owens owner in your league that is panicked, I'd make a move forhim right now. There are surely risks involved as there has been for him since dayone of the season, but he looks like he's ok and hopes to play Sunday. If not Sunday, you know he'll be ready for Philadelphia.J***********************Joe BryantOwner - Footballguys.com

interesting, good discussion btw. sounds like the fact that he was released so soon isn't necessarily indicative that it wasn't some type of a suicide attempt.
Based on what I've encountered, it could have been a suicide attempt and he could be out doing whatever he wants by now. That doesn't by any means show that there really was a suicide attempt. But maybe it'll help with some of the incredulity many people would quite naturally feel about a suicidal person being released so soon.
