Brees Owners: Who are you rolling with Week Nine? (1 Viewer)

For my part, I just took a fllyer on Brad Johnson. I don't like his game at NYG but I do like his array of pals to throw the ball at.

Now...if Romo comes back early, or if Johnson stinks the next two--- I reserve the right to try something else.

Which direction are you guys going when our "automatic" points, Mr. Brees, has the bye week?

I've got Marc Bulger at the moment. I'm hoping for either Marc Bulger to pick it up or someone to drop a slightly more viable guy.

Kyle Orton against the Lions.

This is my situation too.Playing wait-and-see with Bulger, hoping that by the time wk 9 rolls around, the Rams will be fixed enough that a home game vs. Arizona will look like a decent matchup.Meanwhile, monitoring the waiver wire in case a better option comes available.

I grabbed Jason Cambell when he got released by a panicked owner after week 1. Liking the game against Pittsburgh - I figure the Skins will have to throw a pretty decent amount that game.

This is my plan.

Either Kyle Orton or David Garrard will go for me. I lean toward Orton at home vs the Lions but I am trying to get a deal done that will require me to move one of these guys, thus making the decision easier. I doubt I can go wrong with either one really though. Both have good enough matchups.

I second that!!!

I have Schaub and will probably play him. Against the Vikings they will be throwing. I may change if there is someone good on the wire with a great matchup since it's a 10 team league there are always a few decent starting qb's on there. If there's one with a great matchup that week, I may roll the dice.

That's easy for me--it'll be Cutler vs Miami!

I've been playing them according to matchups already though--and especially as a Carolina fan it's this week I think could be tough for Brees....

in a league i have him in, we have to start 2 QB's and touchdown passes are worth 6 points, so i made sure to grab a good replacement. i'm going with mcnabb and big ben.

damn...that's a one-two combo I wish I had. But then, I probably would have traded one of them by now away, and punted that week nine if I had to, just to build depth and good playoff week setups.Fact..thats what I did--dealing Rodgers early with MJD, and getting ADP and Bowe from a guy who was getting hosed at QB.But that said, I think Brees will get his this week at CAR, even if they lose. He has found a way to rack up 300+ and scores against basicly everything thus far, and I dont see that changing. If Colston is back, I REALLY dont see that changing, even against the better defenses.

BUMP! -- Hey, Brees owners, Week Nine is here!

10-team Yahoo league, 15-man rosters, which makes for a short bench and passable free agents always available.

Brees has been the only QB on my roster since I waived Carson Palmer after Week Four.

I'm going with Marc Bulger against the Cardinals, in hopes Donnie Avery can keep it going another week.

If you're curious, other available QBs that I considered, in the order I would rank them:

Ryan at Raiders
Garcia at Chiefs
Frerotte vs Texans
Cassell at ColtsNot a bad selection to choose from, really.

I own Brees 4 leagues off top of my head and ended up with Freotte 3 leagues. The other league is Draftmaster and Warner will cover. Still have to replace JTO and Romo and have a choice of Wallace,Thigpen, or Garcia. YUCK

Pick one for me. Of match ups I suppose Garcia.

Stuck with Russell in another league! Collins in another with Romo out. Thank God byes almost finnished! Injuries are bad enough to deal with!

thanks for the bump...

Changed my mind---now rolling with Bulger in the dome and at 7-1 feeiling confident--and, crossing fingers.

Orton ... grabbed him off the waiver wire in week 2 when noticed he played the lions during Brees' bye. Lucked out that he is playing so well.
