Just wait, I have a spreadsheet and everything now. Spent 2 hours this morning working on formatting and marking off all the picks made from 1.01 to now.14th round and Bogart makes his best pick![]()
Well ... you say that, but he was a turd innings eater last season, too, and I couldn't move Shields for a stale bag of chipsShields could not bounce back and still be a turd innings eater.
I still contend that ERA's don't matter. ERA's are a product of multiple things happening, like RBI are for hitters. The stats that matter are the ones that apply per batter: .OAV, K/9, BB/9, HR/9.Well ... you say that, but he was a turd innings eater last season, too, and I couldn't move Shields for a stale bag of chips![]()
For future reference: starting pitchers are pretty fungible -- so long as their WHIPs are below 1.60 and ERAs below 6.00.
Damn. I should have hit you up for a Shields trade, then. All I wanted wasI still contend that ERA's don't matter. ERA's are a product of multiple things happening, like RBI are for hitters. The stats that matter are the ones that apply per batter: .OAV, K/9, BB/9, HR/9.
To me, it's batter vs. pitcher, and the sim approaches it one batter at a time. There is no way you can factor ERA in to a 1 v 1 scenario.
Oh, the rest of his stats were garbage, too, not just ERA.Dam. I should have hit you up for a Shields trade, then. All I wanted wasa Pepsia barely usable reliever.
there's such a high correlation between ERA and all those others stats you listed. Using ERA is just a short-hand proxy.Oh, the rest of his stats were garbage, too, not just ERA.![]()
I've been eyeing him for a while, he could really rake in that ball park, solid value here IMO
solid AAA shuttle type in 17th
Yes, it will probably be very difficult for him to get ABs with all the frontline talent the Brewers have at the corner infield spots.solid AAA shuttle type in 17th![]()
I was taking him until Shaw went off the board, he was definitely standing out in the remaining group of SP.17.15 Miguel Gonzalez, SP Palehose

Yeah, I mean, they might be bad innings, but at least they're innings. I've got a lot of risky SPs. And somehow Gonzalez actually had a pretty decent WHIP last year.I was taking him until Shaw went off the board, he was definitely standing out in the remaining group of SP.
You sniped me on Gonzalez if it makes you feel better.I think that's like the 3rd time in a row that Scoob has picked the guy I was hoping to get on the way back.
I'm so glad he was picked. I get sucked in every year. THIS is the year he breaks out.17.17: 1B Moreland, Mitch BOS
